To me, I think a lot of the Cody booing is because a majority of the fans don’t see him as the top guy he is pushed as. I just don’t think he is a top guy in that company compared to the other talent. What are your guys thoughts?

I think the stories of him having his own agenda and not really even being on speaking terms with the other members of the Elite is an interesting story. If feels like he almost wants to move on from wrestling which a lot of fans will resent. |

I don't get it, I like Cody, he's not aiming for the top title and he's put over a lot of up and coming guys winning a few matches to keep himself relevant that the losses actually matter.
Taking off of the boots was corny as hell though. Boo the crapoutta that.

I think he knows exactly what he's doing with the captain America over the top fake Babyface thing. Rhodes to the top only made me think that more.

He’s been presented as a top guy since the company began. The more time passes it’s become pretty clear, he isn’t the star he’s made out to be. Especially in comparison to some of the talent being brought in. Whether he is self aware at this point or not, people just aren’t into the guy anymore. The way he and Brandi have presented themselves in the past outside of the ring too haven’t gained them any fans either. He’s a solid hand and a good promo, but he is best suited as a mid card talent.

IMO it's really as simple as that he's a lame face which just doesn't work in today's wrestling. It's hard to get behind someone as a rallying force when they're so uninteresting and corny. People tend to forget the exact same thing happened to Britt Baker when AEW first started.

I seriously don't see the problem with Cody.
He isn't in any AEW Title pictures. He made sure of that by losing to Jericho in that AEW Title match where he said he wouldn't wrestle for that belt ever again.
He put over MJF.
He's putting over Black.
He's rarely competing on Dynamite. The fact I seen him wrestle twice in a row these past two weeks on Dynamite is rare to be honest.
I have no hate for Cody. He doesn't do much to make me hate him to be honest.

The path he's taking mirrors one you'd expect someone in WWE to take. AEW and AEW fans being (somewhat) anti WWE were bound to turn on him. They have to turn him heel at this point. I think Cody is good enough that he can play the role without it being "go home heat" and more just people wanting to see him get his ass kicked.
Brandi. Oh Brandi. She will be a MASSIVE heat magnet. She'll get on the mic and tell people to eat sh*t and the buildings will explode. The chants aimed towards her will be quite interesting. Cody has enough cred that he can beat anyone in the company. Add him being able to cheat to do it and you'll want to hate him even more. It's going to be fun when it happens.

Only idiots boo Cody Those of us who don’t eat paint can correctly see him as the only “tweener” who isn’t a good or bad guy. Cool kids boo Cody and cheer Malakai and Ogogo. The paint consumption is it's own separate, unrelated entity (cause it tastes like it looks; delicious). |
