I still can’t stop laughing at that Kane picture. I imagine him dancing to Right Said Fred’s “I’m too sexy”. I would honestly say this is best Kane we’ll get in a very long time. So this falls in the category of they have one shot to sort of nail it category. It took Mattel nearly 10 years or so to finally give us a new Kane sculpt and body mold that we’ve been asking for. They finally deliver it. Here’s some takeaways, the paint job on the mask is not good (okay, I could deal with that), the boots are not glossy (okay, I could fix that), the sides of abdomen aren’t painted (I could fix that), now the arm isn’t casted in the correct color. That’s a huge deal for me when I realized that this figure has pinless arms. That means you cannot disassemble it to sand off the elbows. Maybe, if it had pins it wouldn’t be such a big deal. Now, I’m an artist and I could tell you right off the bat, that matching that red is going to be annoying. Now, as a consumer I’m planning to buy three once I get the chance to. Kane was my favorite WWF wrestler and I know we won’t get another one any time soon in this attire. So because I don’t like the fact that Mattel made an error, I shouldn’t buy it? I have no choice. It’s either I get this Kane or get stuck with nothing. I’m very vocal about figures and certain details that Mattel misses out on. There’s a reason why we need to be vocal. Otherwise, we’ll get stuck with the same product and there will be no improvement. I understand that there are things that they cannot control, but this could of been answered a couple of days ago. A simple factory error or whatever would of sufficed. We all know Mattel will not correct the issue on this arm, but IT would be the right thing to do. For anyone complaining that this is just a $30 figure, understand that this is Mattel’s cream of the crop line. Not everyone can afford this figure. I don’t display my figures in my shelf so please stop telling me you don’t care because it just goes on a shelf. I pose my figures, I photograph them and I also animate them. I also think the Ultimate Edition Taker should of had TWO brand news heads. One does not even fit the era from that time period. The point is, these figures shouldn’t of had these flaws considering how much we’ve asked for them. I’m happy nonetheless to get them, but I understand the frustration.

Anyways, Tom I read your entire response and it’s kind of BS to be honest. Now you’re trying to take the cool and light approach when you came in policing and calling people entitled. I’m sure Chip and some other apologists will shake their pom-poms on the sidelines with your exposition, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a trash figure and every bit of criticism of said figure and Steve’s palpable silence on it is completely justified.

I would absolutely love for Hasbro to get this license. I’ve heard all the warnings from other people on here about their screwups with scale and what not. But what those people fail to understand is that Hasbro is not going to jump into this line blindly. They will do their research just like Mattel hopefully did their research before they took the line (actually the more that I think about it they probably didn’t do a whole lot of research given their propensity to stumble with almost every opening lineup of a new series). They’ll see what worked and make improvements. And even if they do fail, I’m at that point where I’d rather risk it with something new. There’s a fine line between persistence and insanity. 10 years ago was the learning stage. 5-6 years ago should’ve been the refining stage. By now they should get it. They just continue to regress, however.
