I used to see people like you, when i managed KB Toys. Seriously the level of Entitlement here. Let me educate you a bit. Toys Business in retail is first come, first served. The early bird gets the worm. That's it. If he was such a great friend, why not call you, ask you if you wanted them, bought them, and then you could have just given him the cash. and if you didn't pay him, its not like he was stuck with them, he could have just returned them. If he was broke, then why was he piddling around in target. There is no excuse for trying to get an employee fired, because he did not produce something from the back, that he probably was not instructed to put out. now go back and suck on them sour grapes

Every worker alive is waiting for the one angry customer to finally make good on that threat, because they never, ever do. You'll be back at that Target whether they fire him or not because otherwise, it'll be one less place you can go hunting for your precious Hogan toys.

I hate when workers don’t do what they are paid to do, sometimes they act like it’s not their job to help the customer when looking for items in the back, yeah sure it’s probably not something you do everyday but it is something that you get paid to do even if you don’t get asked everyday
As for the young man getting fired? No, I’d much rather complain and get a gift card or something, and I actually get way more out of that end up then I would out of getting the poor guy fired
Only employee I ever went for far with was recently when a man accused me of stealing target bags (since they started charging for them) and I clearly did not, I told him I didn’t and I put the correct amount of bags, he told me no I watched you put 0 bags but it’s ok you can go, well after showing my receipt to the manager and pretty significant altercation with the man plus a call to corporate, I didn’t campaign for the man to get fired but I did not have problem if they did, I mean getting accused of stealing which I really feel was racially profiling me, it just didn’t sit well with me

As someone who worked at Target in the stockroom, here is what I’m 99% sure what happened.
That guy went in the back to ask a stockroom guy where such and such was because the person you asked DOESN’T WORK IN THE STOCKROOM. They don’t know where anything is back there. They don’t know how to find things back there because the stockroom and sales floor have two different inventory systems and you’re not trained to know them both. They have to find a stockroom employee, tell them what to look for and wait there so the stockroom guy can go find it and bring it back to them. So the guy on his phone is literally just waiting for the stockroom guy. And the stockroom guy was probably in the middle of something because they only ever put 2 people back there at a time unless it’s the weekend or a shipment is coming in.
So you jumped to conclusions without having any idea how Target actually operates. The people on the floor that you interact with don’t get things, they ask the stockroom people to get them. They are middlemen between the stockroom and the sales floor shelves. That is it. The most they can do is check to see if something is supposed to be in stock and that’s a yes or no question.

So you asking them for anything interrupts them from doing what they were ordered to do. Yeah, it sucks for the customer, but it sucks for the employee, too. The one you should be angry at is the corporation that refuses to allow stores to hire more people so that customers can be helped in a timely manner AND work can be completed by the workers. And why should employees put in more effort when they’re paid crapand treated like shit? If you put in 100% effort, you get paid the same as if you put in as little effort as possible. They don’t own the company so why should they care beyond their own survival? There’s no incentive in corporate retail to do a good job.
