racist figures are not ok #CancelStrongbow If more young people actually knew who Strongbow is, the fig probably would have been canceled. An action figure celebrating a white Italian guy pretending to be Native? Insane that made it past the planning stage agreed. hopefully they do the right thing and cancel the figure. |

Honestly. reading up on the fact that the rising sun is essentially viewed the way most "westerners" view the swastika, canceling the figure is the right move in both a moral and business sense.

I legit didn’t even know there was a controversy. It’s crazy that we’re now canceling action figures. Given how small the figure community is, what was it, 3 people got offended?

I’m honestly surprised it got through all the approval processes and that far into production. They didn’t make figures with the Soviet or Iraqi flags that I haven’t heard one bit of people ever being offended over. How did this not raise any red flags (pun intended)?

The tiger stripe design is better, anyway.

I’m not PC enough to understand the controversy about the chase attire. Can someone please explain it to me? Imperial Japanese flag. Reigned in Japan during WWII and treated the Japanese and surrounding areas like Nazi's treated the Jews during the Holocaust. This problem to my knowledge was first brought up by LesnarTime on Instagram, who is from South Korea. If you understand Asian culture, the rising sun flag is quite offensive to people throughout a lot of Asian cultures-- Most notably, in South Korea. To some, it resembles something very close to the Nazi flag here in the US. I'm not for canceling the figure but this was his perspective. Also certain regions and cultures of China where Mattel's figures are made. There's potential that people working in the factories' making these figures families were directly effected by the Imperial Japan reign. The ignorance being displayed on social media over this I've seen so far just really shows the lack of empathy the world has these days. |

I don’t know why tf that was their choice for the chase to begin with. SO many attires to choose from and they went with that one. Now we aren’t getting it. This. I’m not the least bit upset because I was never going to buy the chase, and now the odds are 100 percent that if I buy from an online retailer I’ll get the version that I’ve wanted all along. And, looking on the bright side, at least this was a two attire situation and we’re still getting another RVD Elite. Mattel could’ve really screwed this up if the chase was the only RVD attire planned. |

Interesting turn of events. Shame they couldn't switch to a different attire. I wasn't getting the shining sun attire, but there are a bunch of RVD attires I do want. Feel bad for those who wanted this one.
