I was scrolling on FB today and I saw a post on one of the groups and someone had talked about being set up at a comic con that Greg the hammer was at and that he was the only person selling WWE figures. He said that he had walked up to his booth and saw he had a figure of his and asked if he could have it. He said he was never able to get one and really wanted it. So he did in exchange for a photo. Well come to find a lot of people have had similar experiences in the comments of the post. Like a lot. So I’m just curious. Has anyone else had similar instances of this? Cause this seems kinda messed up. Lol. Never thought he’d be so after an elite like us. Some people are just saying he’s got a good hustle and you gotta respect it, but I disagree. Just seems sleezy. So he’s a scammer because he wouldn’t give away a figure to some random guy? A photo runs about 20-30 for some old legends, the figure is around 30. So to answer the question, no, it’s not scamming, it’s called you just don’t get things for free.

It's okay to lie to someone if an unrelated third party distantly believes the conned to be a scalper. Those are the rules.

Do the wrestlers get comped a few figures (or even a case) from Mattel? Always wondered that. Yes, they usually receive a box of 8 figures

I feel like lying about never having your own figure to multiple fans of yours so you’ll get them to give you it for free just to then reflip said figure at the next con is messed up. Just cause Valentine gave the person I talked about a photo for the figure doesn’t mean he’s done the same for others.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Dude literally looks like a potato with hair though so why would anyone trade a figure for a pic with him? Look at him, looks like a carny to me: I use to own that potato when I was kid!

This is something I've seriously been told. I don’t think that is the case seeing the guy was at the convention selling figures. Valentine didn’t go to the guys house and look at his collection and do it. And honestly if I was Valentine and saw someone trying to make a buck off the hard work I put into my career which led to Mattel making a figure of me I would be pissed also.

I remember being at a con in 2017 and Godfather was there. He was smart. He was Godfather the first half of the day. Then, he left and came back as Papa Shango to get people to double up on photos. Wow, that's pretty brilliant! Totally something Eadie & Darsow should do. As far as Greg the scammer, I guess I find it kind of funny and harmless that he's working people at conventions. Honestly, just happy hes still with us.

The guy never wanted the picture.

That’s pretty messed up. I would of flat out said “NO”. That guy shouldn’t have felt guilt tripped to give him a free action figure only for Greg to flip for himself.

I believe the guy was cool with trading the figure for some pictures. I just posted this because a lot of the comments on the OG post I’m talking about had a lot of people say they had similar instances of Greg giving them the same story about how he never had his Mattel figure and asked for one for free.

"wrestlers have a right to prevent people from making a few measly bucks off their mass-produced plastic toys because they're making money off their career" is officially the dumbest take i've ever read on this site and i've sadly been here for almost 20 years
