Yeap, my main collection is the ultimates now, save on money and space Figure I’ll be all caught up by the spring and then it’ll be easy to add new figures from there. With Steve saying he plans on keeping the boxes the same, they will all display nicely.

It's great to see the Ultimate line going strong, I remember when it was 1st announced majority folks didn't seem too fond of it.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They handled the line intelligently but don’t let them find out that people are ceasing collecting elites in favor of ultimates. They produce ten times as many elites per year so I don’t think they’d be happy with that trade off.

I'm a loose collector, so it doesn't bother me, but I don't like the way, when in their packages, the wrestler is off to one side. Like in Kane's packaging, the belt is the centrepiece, and in Cena's, the shirt is the centrepiece. Also, i like the additional articulation for loose posing, but I think they look silly MOC when they are like Edge/Fiend and they are packaged with a whole extra set of arms (instead of just a soft goods jacket) especially when, as per my above point, the arms are the first thing you see when you look at the packaging, as they're front and centre. The only figures I display MOC anymore are the Jakks Unmatched Fury figures - and I'd love to see Mattel take a (very limited, collector-geared) run at a similar line of figures.
EDIT: sorry, what I'm trying to say is, I'd prefer if Ultimate packaging featured the figures in the middle, in a "signature" pose, and they could hide all the nonsense accessories (extra hands, arms etc.) around the edges of the packet behind the cardboard border (or throw them in a small baggy behind the plastic tray, out of sight). Just leave the 'feature' accessories (belts, shirts etc.) on show. Like Hogan should be posed playing air guitar with the belt, with all the extra hands and stuff hidden away out of view.
Then, on the back of the box, you could list the 'contents' and show the other hands/headscans/etc. that are packaged inside.

They remind me of the original TMNT figures where the figure was on one side and the accessories where on the other. So that adds to the nostalgia for me.

I kind of agree. I understand why Mattel wants to show every accessory front and center to really put over everything included here, but I think the tray could be rearranged to have the figure centered and the arms and etc. off to the side, but still visible. As for Ultimates themselves, I love them. I've been very selective at only picking up ones I really want/they're an attire I'm desperate for/they're better in my opinion than any Elite representation available, but the ones I have are some of my favorites in my collection. Bret and Macho specifically, Michaels would be if I were grading only from the waste down. I've got to pick up the 98 Taker ASAP.

Added the second Big Match John today. I doubt we get another Cena any time soon but I’d love a green jorts or khaki shorts version as the Cena Ultimates look fantastic.

Decided to add the SDCC Slaughter figure to the collection. Just love how it turned out and one of the few times I’m ok with them doing different packaging. Big fan of this figure.

Decided to go ahead and knock out the other Slaughter while he was reasonably priced. Looks so good on the black card too.

Added Ronda to the collection. Honestly, I don’t know about anyone else, but I loved Ronda’s run with the company. Well up until the end when she should have tapped clean to Becky. The figure itself is perfect.

The Ultimate's are by far the best figures of all time in my opinion. They are absolutely incredible, the choices have been great so far and I hope the line continues for a long time as the list of names they can still do is mouthwatering. Definitely a good idea to collect those rather than the Legends line. When you compare the first Legends Austin compared to the Ultimate, well there's no contest.

Local toy shop had Jeff Hardy in mint shape and they always give me a discount so I couldn’t pass on it.
