I don't how many of you are collectors and resellers like myself but I was wondering how you guys did this year. I did pretty well but the only things that really sold were legend elites, main roster elites even the big names weren't all that hot. One thing that really helped me out was a trick my buddy at the toy shop taught me, load up on basics throughout the year and then sell them to desperate parents for twice or three times the orginal price the few weeks right before Christmas. Overall it wasn't a bad season.

I cleared out a lot of stuff this year, mostly Blu-Rays and DVDs. My goal was to get down from 3 bookcases to 2, and I did, so I'm happy about that. Made a lot on some older Vinegar Syndrome and Scream Factory Blus, which was nice. Sold a bit of my board game collection too. I was just weighed down with so many dungeon crawlers, and with the HeroQuest revival having just come in and Frosthaven on the way, plus discovering Street Masters, it was time to clear out some of the ones that haven't hit the table in ages.
But I didn't sell any wrestling figures. My buying habits with these are pretty locked down to specific needs anyway.

It is my personal opinion that scalping to parents at Christmas time is a very low, grade-A jerk move.
You could also load up on basics when you find them for sale and donate them to a LOCAL nonprofit, where there are most assuredly kids asking Santa for WWE toys.

The trick I learned is that if you become a pro wrestler for several years and then start a wrestling figure themed podcast, mattel will actually mail you figures. Then you can sell them for big bucks. Now I just have to become a pro wrestler.

I was at my buddy's toy shop and he had one Hulk Hogan Elite 34 mint in box marked for 70 bucks. As we were talking some guy asked if he could see so my buddy says sure and hands him the box, while that guy is looking at the figure another dude walks up and says I will give you 90 for it as the other guy was still checking the figure out LOL So the other guys says I will give you 95 lol and all of a sund a bidding war breaks out, long story short the dude that walked in bought the figure for 160 bucks! lol Any of you guys see anything crazy like this in regard to WWE Mattel figures and I'm not talking about the insane prices on ebay lol.

Hogans were a dime a dozen for me this year. I got some really bad advice on this board from a member whose name I can't quite remember, but he told me that Hogan prices were through the roof at his buddy's toy shop, and that if I invested right away, I could basically retire off of the Hogan offerings we got in 2021. I cashed out my 401k to buy the maximum that RSC would allow, in addition to any I found in the wild (when not dealing with irate Target employees who are being driven to quit over the demand for UE Hollywood figures), and honestly, by Christmas, I'd lost my shirt on the investment. I'm still sitting on a basement full of Hogans listed at $5 a pop BIN on eBay, and I feel like I'm going to wind up bequeathing these to my grandchildren. I guess the long and short of it is, and I hate to be the one to report this, Hogan is no longer moving merch in 2021, brother.

Ah a reseller is this why you’ve been trying to create this so called over demand for hogan figures this year, don’t get me wrong there is definitely a demand for hogan figures but bidding wars inside of toy shop demands yeah I doubt that.

Gotta be honest as well there’s so many basics on shelves at Walmart and target so why would parents be desperate to pay extra for them from you lol

I'm guessing when you made the post, you're thought process was "I can only see this going well". Yeah, I don't think it will, especially with the fact you've blatantly said "I scalp to desperate parents for more $$". Pathetic.
