Hey guys! I saw this on Instagram today. Anyone have any news or info on this? I know the set was up on the Target app to preorder for $21.99 If this is a sign of the times, I may be out on wrestling figures. WWE already lacks a lot of quality and characters that I would find appealing and 2021 was my least interested year I've ever had in WWE figures. I can't even talk myself into spending $12 on Elites on Amazon anymore. http://instagram.com/p/CYnhGglr2FA

If this is true it will be the end of the line. People donβt have a choice when food prices go up because we have to eat. Iβll never pay $29 (after tax) for a regular elite.

I believe both Mattel and Hasbro have increased prices as of January 1st.
I hear you in terms of interest level as well. With only so many Legends being released at a time, coupled with me not watching WWE programming as much these days my overall interest level is at an all-time low.
A lot of the figures I want can't be made or likely won't be made like Owen, or numerous WCW, ECW, and Attitude Era WWE talent. So when I think of what else could come down the line, I just approach it as a wait and see type thing. Second to that though, there is now more competition for Legends figures among veteran Mattel collectors that it's also frustrating and expensive to track down those pieces.

Is this that Bidenflation I keep hearing about?
Or is it just a Canadian store? $27 Canadian sounds close to what a $20 legend fog would be in the US

Glad I got one last Legends pre-order in for $19.99 each when I did in the early morning of 11/18 because that ainβt ever gonna happen again lol.

My wife lets me get away with a lot in this marriage but honestly nearly $30 a figure after taxes I will either be dropping back quite a bit if not out all together.

I'm already paying over $30 per figure to get things here in Canada and I'm going to be very picky from now on

SRP is still $21.99 for Legends but pricing does occasionally vary from location to location.

SRP is still $21.99 for Legends but pricing does occasionally vary from location to location. Do you know why the prices might vary across locations? Is this a regional change? What sorts of factors make these figures $21.99 in one place and $26.99 in another? Who is making that choice?

What sorts of factors make these figures $21.99 in one place and $26.99 in another? Who is making that choice? It's determined at the regional management and/or corporate level. It's usually owed to factors such as the cost of goods getting to different parts of the country, as well as supply and demand. I always like telling the story of the time I made the mistake of going to TGIFriday's in Times Square. The same meal that would've cost me maybe $10 to $15 back home was marked up 30 to 40%. In that instance, that location is able to command the pricing model because they know that people will pay for the familiarity.

If this is true it will be the end of the line. People donβt have a choice when food prices go up because we have to eat. Iβll never pay $29 (after tax) for a regular elite. If money is so tight you have to decide between a toy and eating, it sounds like there are bigger issues at play.

Just one possible example?

Itβs true - different targets charge different prices for the same item. Hell, even their own online prices vary from in-store prices quite a bit. They have no problem price matching their online prices either FYI.

I have two area Targets that everything is $3-$4 hours more than all the other stores. I usually have them price match the other area stores or their website if I am buy more than one figure. But if I am just buying one figure I just let it go. Those stores are Closter NJ and my Kisco NY. For a while the palisades center store was also like that, but then they dropped back to the msrp.
