I think people are forgetting Austin’s style of wrestling the last few years of his career. Was mainly punches and kicks. He was a brawler. Owens is perfect for the style of match Austin could put on. Roman is on Austin’s level, regardless of what butthurt marks think. Cena took over for Austin and Roman took over for Cena. That said, I don’t think he’d gel as well with Austin as Owens will. And Brock? You want Austin to die? Brock is safe but Stone Cold really shouldn’t be taking multiple Germans. Owens vs Stone Cold. Stunner vs Stunner. It makes sense and could be a fun ten minute match. LMAO Anyway, I will be sad when we get to Austin-Reigns. Stone Cold deserves more than to merely be a plot point to set up a match Rock and Roman at next year's Mania.

Whatever happens, PLEASE don't get Hogan talking about a return to finally face Austin. That ship has long sailed. It's an absurd thought, but I just don't think Hulk can help making himself look like an ass whenever the most minor of opportunities presents itself.

In terms of basically everything, Reigns isn't anywhere near Austin's level. He's not even close to Cena.

I'd be over the moon to see Austin back in the ring, I think there's better opponents than Owens for him, but WWE seem insistent on giving Owens big time opportunities without actually following through on making him (and keeping him) at a main event level.

Haha, can you imagine how bad that would be? 57 with a horrible neck and knees vs. 69 (in a few months) with a horrible back, neck, and knees. Maybe we could try to see if it could get the Meltzer award for least stars ever, with a -***** rating.

I made a quick edit of current day Austin in his attire because why not. To his credit, he's stayed in pretty good shape since his last match. So if he were to wrestle again, there's no doubt he'd look great again after a couple months of getting back into ring shape, and getting the old tan back on. Yeah idk if he’s gonna come out in a Speedo lmao he’d probably wrestle in denim shorts with a sleeveless shirt

Sounds fun to me,don't see how it hurts anything so if Austin is up for it. I say give him and his fans one last Mania moment and if it gets KO some time to shine even better.

For the record, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is a household name. Roman Reigns is not.
Oh and can somebody please remove that horrifying Photoshop of Austin above? That thing is nightmare fuel. 🤣🤣

On one hand, it would be really awesome to see.
On another, what's stopping it from being HBK at Crown Jewel 2018?
Stone Cold and HBK both had perfect retirements, stayed popular, and left incredible legacies. HBK coming back to that one total stinker of a match really brought his legacy down IMO. I'd hate to say the same about Stone Cold. Leave it where it is.
Also, have Owens just do something important at Mania. I'm not saying that getting in the ring with Austin isn't blockbuster, but do something that elevates him and that can carry him into a prominent role again.
I think Austin could come out and give Owens a stunner and get the same reaction. Avoid the potential for a bad performance and seeing a 57-year old man in ring gear.

This isn't going to mess up any "legacies" for anybody except marks on the internet. Stone Cold isn't suddenly going to stop being the greatest of all time because he wrestles one match.

Let me rephrase, Roman along with Brock is the biggest name in the company, making him a big enough name to wrestle Stone Cold. No one in wrestling, not including outside ventures, outside Hogan is as big a name as Stone Cold Steve Austin.

We all know that one match always leads to another.
Imagine in 2022 Stone Cold Steve Austin becomes a 7 time WWE Champion.

It has been a trip thinking about this match. I really want to see this.
Austin needs to rock the shorts like when he faced Bischoff at No Way Out 03. That photoshop pic above can f off. Lol
This match could really be a banger and they don't even have to do much at all. The energy of the match even happening in the first place would carry it.

I can't beleive I just read someone saying roman is on stone colds level. 😂😂😂😂😂
There are only 3 other guys that are above or on the same level as stone cold. Those being Hogan, rock, and cena. Of the current "active" crop lesnar is the only arguable name.

Plus, during Cena's run (end of the attitude era into the mid 2010s), he took the company from the high 3's and 4's in ratings to the low 2s and even the upper 1's in ratings (during the early 2010s), and those ratings are with little to no competition in wrestling at the time. I wouldn't put Lesnar in there either, he and Cena are big names, but not on the level of the other three.

1) Roman isn’t even in the same stratosphere as Steve Austin. That’s not a knock on Roman, but there’s maybe 3 to 4 people that you can say changed the game and are as big as stars as Austin. Nobody before/since will be a game changer like that.
2) I have no interest in seeing Austin wrestle. He arguably had the perfect career. It was short overall, but he was on fire and left right before the business passed him up. I don’t mind a segment between him and owens with a short brawl. But please no.

He was the guy for a decade during a cooling off period. He was solid, sold a bunch of merch. But by no means was he a game changer or transcended the business.
