Alex West said it's confirmed discontinued. Which seems like the same thing the Major Pod guys were trying to tell us, without telling us. I would have liked it, but it's not a Harley Race deal where I really wanted it and would pay crazy secondary prices for it. Oh well. Correct. I was standing there with Bill when he was asked. He kinds sighed/huffed and just said "discontinued".... ..and that was the end of the conversation? Nobody pressed this further? Like how many made it out into the wild? Will they be in stores or online retail AT ALL? Will a small quantity hit RSC? Or should we consider this one dead and gone? |

Please someone walk up to Bill and ask how Yokozuna & Razor Ramon are ok but Strongbow is racist. Because blackface and redface are internationally covered hot topic issues, and a family friendly company like mattel doesn't want to risk getting dragged into the discourse by media outlets looking for a hot story, especially over a niche figure that won't sell well anyway. White people acting Cuban/islanders acting Japanese don't have the same controversy around them so they're less likely to become issues, and Razor and Yoko sell very well, so the reward is more worth the risk. But by all means, keep making this comparison and raising a fuss and get Razors and Yokos canceled too. Brilliant strategy. |

It makes you wonder how the eBay seller (or was it two guys?) got the figures. Do they work for Mattel? Steal them from a shipping warehouse? Somehow get the first shipment directly from Mattel before it was pulled? The seller who had 16 of them got them through Ringside somehow. I saw the pics. He unintentionally showed them to me without knowing what he was doing. So unless he had RSC Elite 90 Shipping mailers with 8 pieces on the side on side of box- packed all 8 Stongbows into them - put them in background for a pic- that’s where he got them. I honestly don’t care the figure is canceled but it’s a sad state of this country that it was. Iron Eyes Cody is NA hero and wasn’t even NA |

Mattel employee Robert Rudman has just confirmed this figure has been discontinued. Regret not grabbing more than two when they were on marketplace for 20$.

I actually was looking forward to getting this figure….as a fan I grew up watching wrestlers of that era including Strongbow.
I don’t know how he is anymore offensive than any of the other wrestlers playing “characters “ on a tv/wrestling show.
It’s almost like people want to be offended by something just for the sake of being offended….

I don’t care either way because he was before my time and it’s just a toy anyways, but I can definitely see why a white dude playing a Native American is more looked down on than what Razor or Yoko were consider white people straight massacred and took the Native Americans land.

I'm not saying it's OK to do one thing for one group but not another. This has nothing to do with my personal beliefs at all lol It's about what a publicly traded company (whose only interest is making the most money possible) thinks they can get away with vs what they don't think they can get away with. They can obviously get away with using cheap slave labor from a shady country like China, because no one cares and people keep buying. But there are very vocal groups who speak out about indigenous issues, and there are billion dollar media corps that make their money by giving airtime to such issues and making them into major talking points that will affect Mattels reputation and bottom line. It's a profit issue, not an ethics one. |

really shameful this figure has been discontinued. on every level. i was looking forward to owning it, since its not an official release i wont feel anything about not having it but its really  ing stupid that they stopped it from being released to the masses |
