didn’t we already have to do that with the entrance great with less articulation and less accessories lol I may be wrong, but I want to say Mattel said that Goldberg would have new molds after the initial release. I can live with that torso but they need to retire those overly muscular legs. Bill said it to be exact. It was right after the main event ring got released with OldBerg. We’re still waiting to this day. I’m hoping Steve could put in the good word for us. I’m just excited to retire my elite Goldberg fixups. |

Seems like they’ve got no issues pumping out new molds in the line and Goldberg definitely needs an update/improvement. SCSA is black trunks and boots and they loaded his ultimate with accessories and I’m anticipating the same approach with Goldberg. WHC and US title, 2-3 heads, who’s next shirt, possibly some track pants |

I still don’t understand how one time figures get unique molds ala shirted captain Kurt Angle. I’d be happy with a unique mold, 2/3 heads, flossed boots and a resized US belt. Speaking of Ultimates. I want my jeans DDP and WCW UE black singlet Bret. |

Goldberg was honestly a bad choice for a UE for a number of reasons IMO. His figures just do not sell well. Anytime I go to a major retailer, it seems like it has a lonely Goldberg or two from waves ago still sitting on the shelf. Secondly, I don't know if Goldberg really warrants a UE considering the lack of entrance accessories and the fact that other elites typically include alternate hands, or a head like the WCW 2-Pack. And last -- the way I expect Mattel to make this, there's not going to be much "ultimate" about it. Its gonna have a pale skin tone, no one's gonna be happy with the torso choice, we're gonna get the same scans from five years ago, pads will be wrong, boots will be wrong...whatever it is, its not going to be up to par with the Ultimate line. I hope they prove me wrong on that. I don't think that's true... it's only his more recent "Old-berg" figures that maybe haven't sold as well - and that's probably down to the fact that it's the same figure released about 3 times(!). His Entrance Greats figure and the E74 Flashback seemed very popular though - I remember Bill saying that his figures sell really well too. |

Once I got the entrance great and one oldberg I was fine. He has nothing to me that screams ultimate edition worthy. No entrance gear.

I'll buy at least one of these to keep moc since I have every 80s and 90s attire UE moc...if I buy a 2nd one to open up, I think alot is going to depend on the head sculpts.

This may be the first amazon ultimate i will skip on.
New molds or not, unless theres like 2 belts and 3 shirts, or 2 shirts and track pants, i dont see how they can warrant an ultimate, guys like stone cold and goldberg dont need ultimates imo. But it remains to be seen.

If I had to make an Ultimate Goldberg, my instinctive thought would be to stick in a leather jacket and jeans as soft accessories, a world title belt and an extra head. Perhaps a t-shirt, too.

It is going to need to be a significant upgrade to the one that came in the Elite 2 Pack with Hitman for me to grab it up.
I love old school Goldberg, but it is hard to justify $40 for one that isn't too much different.

Not sure how to quote my post from the reveal thread. This figure is a huge cash grab. Granted, we didn’t get anything new besides a few hands. Elbow pads, kneepads were asked for a while ago. At the very least Mattel could of bothered to gloss his boots or throw in a new headscan which we’ve been asking for since the release of his DM. I’m going to sell my two other Goldberg’s and just replace it with this one. I would of gladly given up one of the belts for a new headscan though.

It doesn’t appear to have the same wrinkles as the overused one. At the very least those eyebrows are painted better. I’m not holding out hope for more, but there could be other accessories not shown yet. Occasionally we get incomplete prototype listings. |
