So, to correct myself, here are the APA as Mattel have presented them, each in different tights:
EDIT: Changed to a better picture.

Looks like it was from their ministry run. Did they both wear different tights?
The googling I've done since finding this thread leads me to believe that they did indeed wear both tights designs, however, they also always wore matching tights. I'm open to correction.
EDIT: I see you beat me to it 1999 they wore seperate tights often. These exact ones (though i think the circluar design on Farooqs was bigger). Especially when they beat the hell out of Public Enemy on Heat 3/7/99.

These are all Legends in their own right. It just feels like the line is shifting a bit to RA or maybe AE legends as opposed to 80s and 90s ones. Hopefully fans who grew up watching RA have the disposable income of the ones watching 30 years ago to keep this line going.
I'd prefer a mix in each wave as opposed to an entire series dedicated to one era. I feel like if you bought Legends 7, there isn't much appealing about Legends 16, even though it's the same line.
I like getting a Rey in tights, though.

Re: Rey being in Legends series, myself I'd rather they get more guys in who aren't currently on the active roster.

The Acolytes digital protos have different torsos to the physical ones on display, and both versions aren't accurate at all lol. Bradshaw with the olympic swimmer torso like he never drank a beer in his life. Such stupid part choices.

I think the color of the logos should be darker almost a dark velvet shade of red leaning towards a black.

The Acolytes could of been awesome figures if their parts were more true to life. So many other figs get new tooling, why can’t we get a torso that’d match someone like Bradshaw or farooqs body type a little better. The torso farooq has is just bad, they should of retired it with Batista. It was also used on Sting, Tatanka , Stevie Ray and it looked real out of place on them too.

A lot of tooling is wasted on one off figures that people don’t care about to begin with like James Elsworth/Captain America Kurt Angle etc. I think a smaller retooled Lesnar torso would work for these guys. Granted both Bradshaw and Farooq had different physiques.

Not too bad of choices I just don’t think the Bradshaw and Farooq came out to good. Molly isn’t as bad.

I'm still getting a bunch of the new reveals (and old reveals) but definitely not as much as before. In a way, I'm happy to give my wallet a little break. lol.

Granted both Bradshaw and Farooq had different physiques. That's a big issue for me. We get unique tooling on some truly forgettable one-off figures like Velveteen Dream, Angle, etc. Meanwhile the rest of the line basically works off of the same 5 torsos. Heck, even for Angle they used Warrior torso for all of his singlet figures, yet tooled a new mold for a one-off attire. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems a lot more economical to create a new single torso, use it half a dozen time, and settle for painted on details on his return attire. Torso scaling isn't a deal breaker for me. I don't mind a little artistic license here and there. But some of the parts choices are real odd. Even something like the Bulldog/Austin torso would have been a much better fit.

Even as somebody who didn't watch the RA era and doesn't have a lot of interest in the figures, I can't complain about the variety. There aren't a lot of new names being added to the roster Mattel has to work with, no matter how much we wish it was different. And they did a pretty solid job of pumping out a pretty comprehensive roster from the late 80s and early 90s. And many of those guys only really had one or two noteworthy looks. I'm hoping we'll see them start to dig deeper into doing the same for RA, WCW, New Gen, and some other eras that haven't been as well represented. There's a lot of ground they could cover with talent under contract - WCW champ Booker T, Team Angle Shelton Benjamin, Attitude Era Jerry Lawler, etc. Personally I'd love to see them get back to more deep cuts/wrestlecrap things like The Disciple, Diamond Studd, Vinnie Vegas. But get why that's not something they want to do from a retail standpoint.

A lot of great points said about the part tooling choices. Angle having to use the shredded Ryback singlet torso for his singlets was absurd, and then they go and tool a unique top mold for a one-off attire he WORE A T-SHIRT OVER that night lol. All the promo pics have him wearing it, but in the actual match, he had a Raw shirt over it - the figure is cool and all, but so frustrating! Hopefully if they get Angle again, they'll start over from scratch.
I agree, even the Bulldog/Austin torso would've been better for APA/Acolytes, but I like the idea above about a Lesnar-esque torso sized down a bit for guys with a lot of bulk but not definition. I could at least see that being a modest fit for Bradshaw and a dead ringer for Faarooq. I actually kinda like that they have different tights designs, and it's accurate, so at least that's...something?

I do wonder if perhaps JBL or Ron Simmons perhaps were given a prototype figure with a less than desirable set of abs and they said "lol nope!". Would perhaps explain why they're both built like Stallone in these figure forms?
