I think human error (scanning the same product twice on accident) or ignorance (scanning the Coke 3 times because you aren't a trained retail employee) is significantly different than deliberately using the self checkout and bringing another item to scan because you already know the system isn't going to allow you to purchase it.
With that being said, I really don't care what people do to get the figure. I'm not going to treat anyone differently on here (insult/block/make fun of) just because I disagree with something they did or their justification for it.
I'm on a Blu-Ray forum and people would be warned or even banned if they promoted using self checkout to ring up a different movie for the same price from the same studio in order to purchase a movie that was street dated (movies and CDs have been put out early on accident before). After this thread, I wouldn't be surprised is that was enacted here.

Well nobody has answered so you tell me if you would be upset. I've only said it twice, by the way. It isn't laughable at all. It's the exact same situation, just in reverse. You're so smart, so you should be able to explain the difference. So would you be upset if Ringside sent you the wrong item? I'm glad I could give you another joke to run into the ground like you do with the Hogan jokes 😘 and you have yet to explain why grandma doesn't deserve to go to jail for ringing up 7-up instead of root beer. well? in all seriousness, no i would not be mad because mistakes happen. not ringside but target actually did send me a kane instead of taker and they refunded me and let me keep the kane, so i kinda wish it would happen again ha. so the difference between your example is that they did it by mistake and will make it right in the end by either refunding you, replacing the item and sometimes letting you keep the item they sent by mistake like Target did for me. the difference between your twinkies comparison and what is actually happening in this situation is people are ringing up a nearly identical item from the same manufacturer that's the same exact price. where as in your example, you mention someone ringing up (unknown amount) boxes of Twinkies in exchange for a much higher priced electronics item and possibly having a huge discrepancy in price. that's the difference. and thank you for the material. I never said anybody should go to jail. What you're describing is against store policy though. Let's just end this now. It's a stupid argument over a toy. |

It's okay for people to disagree about things lol...I seriously doubt people that feel strongly one way or another about this are going to be swayed by some posts on a toy forum.
I don't blame people for feeling one way or another. I think both sides have valid points.
I don't think anyone is trying to be malicious, but we are talking about store exclusive collectibles in a popular line. I know I do what I would do because I absolutely hate paying scalper prices.

It’s insane how jealous some are that some people got this fig and they didn’t. Just pay the scalpers like I am going to have to. I hate them but I havent found a store exclusive in 4 years. It’s funny how the same angry people want to absolve Target in all this. Target put it on the shelf. Target inputted the street date incorrectly in their systems. People are paying $30 for an ultimate figure. If Target didn’t screw up, people wouldn’t have to do this. Is it 1000% legal? This is like driving 67 mph when the speed limit is 65. Target and Walmart don’t seem to mind sending me smashed figures in bubble mailers (WM) or putting giant stickers over them (Target) I paid $30 for two figures because they inputted it wrong. I then sold one for $80. But don’t fret, I’m going to have pay scalpers prices for Luger and nWo Savage. It’s the circle of life. W |
