This thread confuses me. People seem upset for no reason. These figures aren’t taking up spots in other lines. They won’t really lower the prices on the original figures because they will have new packaging and most likely parts. It’s really just a chance for people that want them to get them for retail. I can’t think of a single reason to be angry about any of this. Even with the figure choices, if it’s not in the attire you want, cool you get to save money. Personally, no one I need, but makes me excited at the possibilities.

People are like “I can’t believe Mattel would rerelease popular characters in important/iconic attires with modern updates and personally screw me like this!” Jakks used to straight up repack the exact same figures/attires all the time. The fact that Mattel hasn’t really done that is impressive, but ten years on it’s time to revisits some of those attires and figures now. |

It'd be nice to get that Faarooq but with a corrected skin tone. Nah his WCW attire is his best fig that needs a rerelease I missed that one They need to do purple tights Ron Simmons instead of rereleasing the HOC. |

They want people who aren’t under legends contracts, which somehow is Mattel’s fault therefore they are out of ideas and have to re-release figures. |

I'm here for this line, but there are two things that need to be addressed to tone down the rampant speculation/hand wringing over the original figures value etc.
1) what will the packaging be, uniform or mixed?
2) will there be changes to the figures either parts, true fx, or altering attires?
My feeling is that they will have uniform packaging, but no real changes to the figures.
Out of the six listed, I only have Bam Bam, so it would be nice to grab Jake and Rikishi possibly at retail price.

I would definitely prefer another version of Simmons with different tights. I get the purple tights, though I would prefer the yellow/gold with the tomahawk on the leg, or the dark maroon tights. |

I’d imagine the tooling for the old style parts is gone, which is why they don’t use them anymore. In the same vein, everything is now True Fx. I doubt they’d move back to hand painted just because. If anything, maybe all the exact same heads but with True Fx, though for some I’m hoping updated heads as well. |

This line is reminding me of the Lost Legends Elites; rereleased figures with tech updates. It would make sense to include TrueFX removable heads, extra hands, double-jointed elbows, and maybe even a new paint job/color variant from the original releases. Y2J in the Lost Legends series was the only figure that included an updated head and trunks design, with the exception of the light-up rubber coat from Elite 20.
Personally hoping for the Ultimate Edition/Rock n Sock 2-Pack heads with The Rock. But something clinging to air tells me we're getting the recent Top Talent Elite or Basic Series 125 head; shame if that's the case.
