Again, really not how this works. It's not a question of lowering the price to what "consumers will pay for that item" it's a question of clearing shelf and floor space for incoming new inventory. Obviously there are figures that sell better than others, but overall Target was likely way in the black on each Legends series just on preorders alone (let alone eventual in-store sales) and stores clearancing out the final inventories of Chyna (to use your example) has no bearing on that. To use a specific localized example: Currently at my target, there are about 7 Lance Archer figures that have been sitting on pegs for a few months, through 2 restocks of Legends 14 figures that all seemed to sell pretty well through initially. Said Archers are still at full price, while the final Chynas left are clearance at $9.99. By your logic the Archers should have been put on clearance long before Chyna was. However, since the store likely has incoming Legends 15 inventory to put out (likely with a back to school/Fall reset) the Chynas were clearanced to clear the shelf space. Weather you’re lowering the price because the item isn’t selling or to clear shelf space in the end it’s the same thing. Nobody was paying $22.99 for Chyna. So the only way to get rid of her figures to make room for new ones was to lower the price so low at $5.99 that almost anyone would just grab it because the price was so low. Except people were paying it for Chyna, as the store went through several restocks of the set. Beyond that, you're skirting the overall point, which is that product being put on clearance is often not about sales, and in this specific scenario, likely shouldn't be viewed as sign that the "line is failing" and that Target will be "dropping it soon."

It’s basic economics….not hard to figure out. If a product is selling and there’s a demand for it then the product won’t have to be put on clearance. If there’s no demand for the product then the price has to be lowered to meet the price that consumers will pay for that item. You never see Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man or Hogans on clearance….Why ? Because people want those figures. But the 4th Chyna in the last 2 years or the 38th elite of Edge….Yeah a lot of ppl don’t care about them. I’ve witnessed a few Warriors on clearance so….. I've bought figures of all three of those guys on clearance, some as low as $5. Either way, this thread has taken a hard turn into Parts Unknown.

I know it’s a touchy subject on this board but even the Ultimate Warrior gets clearanced from time to time.

He’s a big name and he does sell well but he’s not impervious to being on clearance or not being the hottest selling toy at the time. A lot of Warrior fans seem to take it very personal too

Tbh the warrior would’ve sold better if it were a new attire. This is it’s 3rd release

Tbh the warrior would’ve sold better if it were a new attire. This is it’s 3rd release I mean, even beyond the Amazon one. The Ultimate Maniacs, the Lost Legends (I know it was the 2nd release), the two pack with Shango, and the elite series singlet figure all rotted in my area. That’s not to mention the basics I saw several times not moving. Warrior sells pretty well, can’t deny that, but people acting like his figures are always hard to come by because he’s one of the best sellers is just silly.

I really hope it's just figures/accessories and not a giant set piece. They said they don’t need to crowdfund figures. The point of these is to go all out on and make huge play sets or stages that they couldn’t sell in retail So this is why we don't speak in absolutes 😉 I can't wait for that sweet new big green belt with Hogan and an Ultimate Terry Funk!

I just hope they find a way to release that Nitro stage. I think the reception was way better than the Attitude Era stage.

I just hope they find a way to release that Nitro stage. I think the reception was way better than the Attitude Era stage. Wow amazing Nitro Stage! That thing and the Attitude era one they showed a few months back just blows my mind. We need both of them! Let’s think about something here, would it be realistically possible for Mattel to give us a crowdfund where it’s based off the historic Monday Night Wars!? Think about it, if you look at that Nitro Stage it’s way smaller than the Attitude one but if you look at the base of both of them they are basically the same exact base with the surrounding items obviously fitted for each entrance stage. They could realistically offer us both stages in 1 crowdfund and label it Monday Night War as a selling point. The thing would obviously be expensive but maybe they could ask $400-$500 plus obvious add on goals as more and more people purchase. Add ons could be figures and we all know that would only increases sells. It’s just very interesting they show both these entrance stages so closely together. They are definitely awesome pieces we need to fight to get both of these!

Most people complained that the Attitude Era stage would take up a lot of space. The price point is also a little hefty if it’s like $400-500, for me $250 is a decent price point for one of these. I think what they could do is offer both these stages on their creations site. That way they could get both out (individually) and people wouldn’t have to drop money on both. I think for me, I’d like them to go all out on the details even if it means excluding figures. However, if it does then jeans DDP UE, black singlet Bret UE and a Bischoff would do.

As for Mattel Creations….question.
At what point does a item become yours? When added to basket or paid for? If it’s in your basket is it reserved for as-long as you enter payment details?
I’d like to be prepared to get 1 Hogan/Zeus but there’s no way to add card details to my account without ordering something before hand I don’t believe.

I just keep refreshing the page in hopes to score 1 Yeah it doesn’t seem easy. I’d like to be prepared but I’m in the UK so I can’t exactly order something to test it out with delivary charges and possible customs charges lol

If they are smart…they will hold of the crowdfund deadline until about late September, early October. Give everyone time to get their feet under them.
