Well damn, first thought is super 7 have nailed the heads on these. That Myers is maybe the best Myers head to date.

Those are the same heads, just painted much better.. I love Matt and Brian, but it's hard for me to justify spending $96 Canadian (before shipping) on figures that probably won't look as good as the prototypes. Super 7 burned me with the NJPW and previous Major Pod figs. Fool me once, fool me twice.

Nah the Myers eyes are way bigger snd the mouth expression is different. It’s not just the paint but the actual sculpt, unless 50% of the original sculpt had the eyes left skin colour lol

I like the attire on these a lot. I'm going to preorder them.

I'm 99% sure they're the same heads. The prototype pics look different on the stern head sculpt, but actual product shots look the same albeit with the paint difference

Cardona looks great, and I much prefer the attire on Myers than the first set release.

The good: they look slick and have some neat gear accessories.
The bad: the price point. It is a real catch 22. The reason Cardona gave for the higher price was due to the added deco. But let’s look at this: Brian’s figure isn’t anything overly detailed. He comes with his two piece mass gimmick, a chair, a vest, and a few heads/hands. What really seems to have driven up the price is Cardona’s belt and over the top entrance gear. He even has an additional hand as well as sunglasses. I’m going to venture a guess and say that Matt’s was more expensive to produce but they needed them both to cost the same so it drove up the price of Brian’s figure to help offset the cost of Matt’s. Now for the catch 22: Cardona probably outsells Myers by a fair percentage which wouldn’t be a shock. So the very existence of a Cardona figure means that they are more likely to sell the Myers figure as well.

$75 for an action figure is pretty insane but I’m sure the diehards will bankrupt themselves to buy them

They look amazing, no matter what you think of Cardona and Myers. The price though....

$75 for an action figure is pretty insane but I’m sure the diehards will bankrupt themselves to buy them “According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average hourly wage of United States citizens as of December 2020 is $29.81” So It’s (on average) 2.5 hrs worth of work or $15 off an average weekly grocery spend With the rising cost of all essentials (food, fuel etc) you fo wonder how well things like this will do in this marketplace

Wow that price point is insane. I thought they were pushing it with the first release at $50. I would be shocked if these sold at that price.

Not making fun of you, just curious. I'd wager that figure you listed is skewed by astronomically high-wage CEO types being factored in with the millions of people working for minimum wage or less. As for these figures, they look great. Better than series 1 for sure. I would have considered them, but I don't think $75 is worth it to me personally. I'm happy with my first series, despite some nit picks I have. Besides, Super7 is getting plenty of money from me with TMNT and Godzilla, so I've gotta pick and choose how I spend.

No one, I literally googled average us wage per hour. I’m from the uk, I have American friends but they’re musicians so not your usual 9-5 hourly job and it would be rude to ask how much they earn lol I just used usa since most people on here are from the states snd that’s where super 7 is based I would question how can you work for less than minimum wage? Over here it’s illegal to pay less than minimum wage. Re. Value, I totally agree they’re too much. That’s what I was trying to convey with my examples, I probably didn’t do a good job of portraying that though. I can see them tipping over the £100 mark before long.

Thanks for clarifying - minimum wage has been a point of contention here in the USA for a long while now, with $30/hr being close to double what the federal minimum wage is as far as I'm aware. That's why I was surprised to see that figure from the Labor Bureau, especially from a time before minimum wage was raised.

No worries 👍 and yeah your spot on that it doesn’t take many in cray high wages to bring up the average I think we’re on the same page though that prices are getting ott. I get smaller companies don’t have the economies of scale that bigger companies do but $75…then imagine having international postage on top. With rising living costs worldwide people need to start making decisions and figures like this will be the first to be passed over

With rising living costs worldwide people need to start making decisions and figures like this will be the first to be passed over Yeah man, I'm absolutely with you. $75 seemed a bit overboard for these, I understand the deco and intricacy but it seems like the first releases had more accessories and had the distinction of being unique at the time. These new ones seem to be improvements for sure (especially Cardona, whose figure I liked in series 1 much more because I'm guessing he was MUCH more involved in the development and accuracy than "Bare Minimum Brian" was haha). You're definitely also right about figures like these being the first things to be passed over. The Mattel board was full of people who laughed outright at the first wave being $55, since they were used to their $18 elites. The higher price point will definitely alienate a big part of the wrestling collector audience.

The moulds by and large will be the same (maybe different heads but the rest I imagine are the same) so that’s a huge chunk of development and production costs they haven’t had to worry about this time so even with the extra deco I’d have expected at most the price to stay the same as the last set.

Oh right...didnt even realize that Brian's figure isnt too far off from other Ultimates releases as far as accessories and details. And honestly, I can point to other past Ultimates figures that are on par deco-wise with Matt's figure too. So I think the price jump is unwarranted... However, it might be an instance of all Ultimates jumping in price, from $55 to $75. Super 7 are doing a pre order for Simpsons Ultimates this coming week, so prices for those will be very telling about what is going on.

My counter argument to the price hike though would be is the added deco anywhere near the cost of production of the molds and I would suggest not. I think that taken into consideration they could / should be similar to the original price wise
