My second time using the more expensive Express international shipping and the second time that my order is still waiting days after other orders have started going out. So safe to say Express shipping from Mattel Creations does NOT mean Express despatch

Mattel creations always seems to send my order out towards the middle of their shipping process. Can’t wait for this to come in. Really looking forward to series 3. I know Steve had said it’ll be 2 sets a year…but any chance you guys think it could be 3 sets a year soon? This set is out early March, hogan/funk shipped in November…leaves a pretty big gap

On that note - I wonder how many fans actually know about this line? Of course it's discussed daily here on this message board - but how many casual fans buy/collect wrestling figures but don't use message boards or ever visit "MattelCreations" website? It's not like this line was heavily advertised on WWE programming or anything.... I'll bet there are some fans out there that don't even know about the Coliseum Collection....

Mine says “out for delivery,” but I’m going to be away until tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, I have this waiting when I return.

I had no idea that Hulk/Funk was still available.
It makes me think I’m not in the minority as much as I initially thought.
By that I mean, I think there’s a fair number of people who are more particular when it comes to which wrestlers they want to collect.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who wanted just Hogan. Just like there were those who only wanted Funk.
I wonder how many Hogans and Funks would have sold if they had been offered individually. I bet more.
Keep the Coliseum Collection going, and keep the special individualized packaging; it’s great. But I bet the 2-packs are more of a deterrent than Mattel realizes.
Speaking of which, if anyone is interested in a Funk figure, I still have one unopened and MOC available.

I can wait. I still have the whole Marvel Legends Puff Adder wave to open, both Marvel Legends X-Men 3 packs, The Marvel Legends X-Villains 5 pack, Ultimate Razor Ramon (Red Trunks), and GI Joe Classified '87 Outback to open up.

Put them on the site with a 2-week/one month available to order window. And offer them as solo figures. I really think that’s key.

Totally off topic, but if you’re a DC/Batman figure fan, check out McFarlane’s Knightfall Batman that he previewed yesterday. It’s fantastic. Arguably the greatest “classic” (‘80s/‘90s) Batman figure ever made.

Due to the fact that Hogan and Funk are still available, it makes me really nervous for this line. The last 2 Retro sets are still availble too. The only Mattel Creations set that has sold out was 1st Retro set. Meanwhile, those crazy Hot Wheels collectors sold out a $600 set of cars from 2021 in minutes.

But as far as mass retail Batman figures go, the McFarlane Knightfall Batman might very well end up at the top

Either way, any Batman figure collector has a great choice between those. Not to mention the inevitable color variants that’ll be offered.

Also I'm sure the amount of sets produced will dwindle down to what expectations are eventually if not now starting with series 2. Since it was the 1st set made and released, it's possible, they set the bar high to not disappoint the fans like they do with their SDCC releases, which I understand why that's an even more limited release. Also, could just mean they got all year to sell them. Since only 2 releases/year it has barely been 6 months since series 1 was in people's hands. They are not storing these in Walmart/target warehouses, so it's not like they need to move them fast.

Mattel had to up the quantity of Hogan and Funk to try and avoid the fiasco of the last two SDCC releases which sold out in minutes. Also Hogan and Funk were limited to 2 per order. They changed Jake and Rude to 3 per order. I feel this line will continue, but they will most likely tone down the quantity. Also, lets be honest. Funk, Jake and Rude are great figures, but never main eventers in WWE. The Hogan this came with was released around the same time as Ultimate 13, and the No holds Barred Hogan. So the market was pretty flooded with Hogans. Lets wait and see what happens when they release A WM3 Macho Man, Rowdy Piper, and Andre the Giant!

I thought of the SDCC backlash too, and wondered if it had some bearing on the Coliseum Collection set 1.
