No shipping info on my sets yet but I just checked my FedEx account and a label has been created so it looks like at least one of the sets should be on the move here in the next few days!
Also I wouldn't be too worried about the line going away any time soon. Steve has stated many times that Ultimate lines are doing extremely well considering their price point. Mattel will just continually adjust the production amounts accordingly for future waves based on sales of the past ones. As long as they sell enough units of each wave to justify the production costs I'm sure they'll keep the line going, especially since they don't have to worry about retail space. I'm sure they over produced the Hogan/Funk wave just because they didn't have sales numbers for items like these outside of the SDCC exclusives, and they can't really use those as gauges for how well a line will sell due to the already lower production numbers. Now I might be wrong but even though the Rude/Roberts is a 3 per account limit I'm guessing there were still fewer units produced than the Hogan/Funk wave. Still enough to give everyone a fair chance at purchasing them if they wish, but maybe not enough to have stock for 6+ months like the Hogan/Funk set.

Also just got my shipping notification email! I live in Washington state and placed my order about 45 minutes after they first went up, if that means anything to anyone.

I think Series 1 did sell out, and got a second production run. I'm not basing that on anything other than a hunch, but it seems likely.

For those who got their shipping notice, did you do regular shipping or expedited shipping? I chose the standard shipping as well. And not saying you're one of these people but I honestly don't understand why some people think paying for a faster shipping service entitles them to get their orders fulfilled first. You're strictly paying more to get the package 2-3 days sooner after it ships and that's all. Nobody knows Mattel's process on who's orders get fulfilled first and we'll probably never know. |
