He could head to AEW and still be fine. Look at Jake and Billy Gunn. Possible but unlikely. I'm pretty sure Jake & Billy signed over their IP to WWE so regardless where they go WWE owns those rights. After the lawsuit Jarrett went through over his likeness before I don't see him signing that away. Jake has a standard legends deal. Billy probably does too. He likely concluded that he’ll get more from merchandising with WWE over AEW since being in DX is more marketable than a backstage producer or whatever his role is. |

My hope is, at a minimum, the Ultimate is a lock regardless of his contract situation. I think the second Jeff Hardy Ultimate proves that once the wheels are spinning they only really want to stop the train if absolutely necessary. I'm in the "backstage role is totally separate from the Legends deal" camp. So I expect to see him get figures for the next three years.
I'd be fine with seeing Jeff get a match with AJ in WWE or against Joe in AEW if he's looking to close it all out. He looked good in that Flair match, but that also might be how he wants to close it out. I do think AEW will want him backstage, and thus opens the door for him being on TV. Either way, Jeff is in a good spot with WWE cutting him a check for toys and video games and his two most marketable shirts sitting on his PWTs store.
From the way the Major Pod guys talked, it seemed like Double J was negotiating with WWE on the Legends contract, and it took him awhile to get under a deal even after his legal stuff was cleared up with TNA. Foley seems to be back too after sh*tting all over those contracts. So I wonder if WWE has restructured how they do those deals for these guys in general. I find all of these situations fascinating, primarily because I think it has stifled Mattel's business at times, but the last couple years have been a little different in getting guys still like Cole/Jonah/Hardy/Bray.

Mattel has said numerous times they only release legends that are on legends deals. Legends deals do expire but not in 4 months. As long as he doesnt head to AEW or commit a serious crime or "socially unacceptable" act...we should be good He could head to AEW and still be fine. Look at Jake and Billy Gunn. I mean Jeff Hardy got in some serious legal issues and went to AEW and his ultimate figure wave hasn’t hit retail yet. |

I’m really more disappointed that, pending news, this will be the ONLY Jarrett. I’ll still get the figure, but darn, wish we had Attitude Era Jarrett too.

I’ll be gutted if this doesn’t come out…really hope Steve can give us the thumbs up on it but with it only being a digital render so far, I’m not confident at all. Bischoff doesn’t work for the company and has a figure coming, hopefully Double J still happens. If he can still get figures, a follow up attitude era is a must…wonder if they can have a ‘slap nutz’ shirt? Technically, this surely isn’t against PG?
