Just found out double j has left his position at wwe. With his upcoming ultimate edition only in the infancy stage of creation, do you think they will cancel that figure and replace it with someone else? Hope not, i've been wanting a 95 double j for a long time.
Update from AFA Q&A thread: Steve could you please finally confirm or deny whether or not the Jarrett figure(s) are still happening? We still get Jake Roberts figs, so I just wanna make sure. This one won’t be possible at this time. If the situation ever changes (as they tend to do), I’ll do all I can to get this one back in the pipeline for release. |

I'd imagine his merchandise contract is separate, but if that's not the case, it really sucks, even if the Ultimate doesn't get cancelled.

Mattel has said numerous times they only release legends that are on legends deals. Legends deals do expire but not in 4 months. As long as he doesnt head to AEW or commit a serious crime or "socially unacceptable" act...we should be good

As long as he doesnt head to AEW or commit a serious crime or "socially unacceptable" act...we should be good He could head to AEW and still be fine. Look at Jake and Billy Gunn. |

I think we'll be fine... as pointed out, employee contracts and merchandise contracts are separate (look at Bruce Pritchard - he's been there years and still no Brother Love figure).

I’m outspoken about how boring as dirt I find Jeff Jarrett, but I’m very much looking forward to the Ultimate. I'm similar. I don't find him boring per se; I just don't take him seriously. He should be a comedy jobber, which is how I viewed Honky Tonk Man when I was a kid. If either wins it should be because of some silly fluke or to build up heat so the hero can squash them. He thinks way too highly of himself, clearly crossing the line from confidence (Bret Hart: "I'm the best there is ...") to conceit. With that said, if the figure looks good AND I can find it at retail, I'll consider buying it. |

Possible but unlikely. I'm pretty sure Jake & Billy signed over their IP to WWE so regardless where they go WWE owns those rights. After the lawsuit Jarrett went through over his likeness before I don't see him signing that away. |
