WM Heritage Razor Ramon basic. Total impulse purchase when it caught my eye cutting through the toy isle. Saying it was a slippery slope would be a huge understatement.

I walked into Toys R Us sometime in January 2010, and found a bunch of the new Mattel WWE figures, and they blew me away at the time. I bought basically all of Elite series 1 (except Edge and MVP, since they didn’t have them in stock), Basic series 1 HHH, Cena, and Batista, the Jericho/HBK and Legacy Battle Packs, and a Flex Force (remember those?) Matt Hardy.
That was where it all started. The rest is history.

I forget if I found the basics or elites first, but this goes back to the launch. It was January 1st 2010 and I had a hangover from hell walking into that TRU. The first basics were Triple H, Kofi, and Bourne. The first Elites were Mysterio and Taker. I know I got the MVP around then too but something tells me I didn’t get that on day one. I know I also picked up the Beth/Santino and Cody/DiBiase two pack around the same time, probably within the same week. I’m old now, and don’t remember which was first. Memories 😿

Macho man WM7 defining moments, had no real intention of collecting, just thought it was cool and gave me a nostalgia kick. It was only $20 I believe on Amazon and Texas Tornado was something like $15 but I didn’t buy it 😳.
320 figures down the line and I’ve still never managed to get a Tornado and it feels like that Macho is going to get the Ultimate treatment soon.

An odd John Cena Basic fig. Had a weird angry shouting face and no wrist/arm bands on his arms. Tried to find out which specific fig it was but I couldn’t find it in the main basic line or signature series

Found them on shelves literally the first day available New Years Day 2010. Picked up E1 Punk and Taker and then later found basics at a K-Mart, picked up Cena, Trips, Big Show, Bourne & Kofi.
Side note: Wasn't following the Mattel news too much (was thinking this was a good time to get out at the end of Jakks) so was really confused when the Elites and Basics didn't match up.

That’s the only one I remember with no wrist bands or arm bands (odd design choice). The only reason I remember that is because there was a Big Show with hair in the same series that I was looking for, but ‘right to bare arms’ Cena was the one I saw most often. There was also a weird Sheamus in that series that also looked like he was missing trunks deco, but I guess he actually wore that.

The Beth Phoenix/Santino two-pack. It was a tremendous feeling hitting Toys R Us that day. Felt like the two-pack was catered towards me, since I loved their storyline and mixed-tag team. Still one of the best Beth figures too. After I bought it, I felt divine purpose and began collecting the line.

A Flex Force Evan Bourne. Coming off the end of Jakks, I wasn't sold on Mattel figures at the time. Stores hadn't really stocked WWE figures in a while. RA41 was the last Jakks line to be stocked. It wasn't until series three of Elites, Basics and Tag Team Basics that stores started selling more than just Flex Force figures.

Yup that was the Cena fig I had, I didn’t describe the face too well but boy was it ugly

I believe it was The entire series of Retros 3. They were $5 each at Five Below, so I pulled the trigger on those.
Right after, I believe I bought the Network Spotlight Diesel and Auska from Target.

2 pack series 1 Micheals/Jericho and Rhodes/DiBiase Jr. Wasn't gonna collect after Jakks and saw their figures and instantly changed my mind
