Ultimates are superior. People will/are trying to cash out before their elites get the upgrade eventually. Some will obviously stay due to contracts. Bret target legends 3 is a perfect example. Other then the custom Bret package for the RSE, it has absolutely nothing on the new Ultimate all pink Bret. Completely superior. I almost bought the RSE, but I'm SO GLAD I didn't. RSE Bret is a better figure though. It doesn't have that horrible plastic jacket from the UE (yeah the stiff arms on the RSE aren't the greatest but it still looks better), and it has more accurate head with the correct hair colour. It's all subjective when it comes to which looks better for the user, and no opinion is wrong, I don't care for the rubber coat at all, and actually like the new ultimate jacket. Some people are hard to please and I get that but at the end of the day I'd rather play with the ultimate 😂

This has definitely become a buyers market. Over the last two years people had disposable income spending like crazy and drove prices up. There were also tons of people getting into the market strictly to sell and make money. Now that the checks are gone and cost of living is up will you pay top dollar for that old elite or wait for a newer version either elite or ultimate? Newer figures will be even harder to sell because of the price going up and also factoring the cost of shipping on top of that.

Bret legends 3 is the wrong example imho, the elite version is 100 times better than UE version (a repaint of the first UE, with wrong details).
The perfect example is the last Ultimate Warrior, more details, more accessories and likness.
The figure is superior by default due to all the new articulations regardless if it's a repaint of a previous ultimate. Most elite Bret Harts are repaints as well, so that being a knock against the ultimate isn't fair imo. Not to mention, if you stand both together, with both jackets on, the RSE is basically a statue, while you have free rotation of the arms with the ultimate. With the ultimate, you're getting Extra heads Extra hands Better joints More articulation Better pose ability Arguably better looking overall And about $150 less currently Still, your example of warrior is correct, as is the recent nwo Target Macho. At the end of the day, if I had the opportunity to have both Bret's infront of me and was able to choose which one to keep, it would be the ultimate hands down. When it will be released, you will see all youtubers say the older version is better, trust me. It's a statue, but one of the most beautiful statue ever made by Mattel. The UE is a repaint, the jacket details are wrong and the only good thing is the pose ability. UE Macho is not a correct example: the attire is different than the older version and even in this case, the elite is more beautiful to display than the newest one.
More feature doesnt mean better, more details and accessory (like Ultimate Warrior) yes.
just to add something: UE is killing Elite line, but the greatest hits line will kill everything! I have to buy many old figures, but now I prefer waiting years to se a re-release in UE line or greatest hits.

i actually scooped up the RSE Kane Unmasked elite figure for $25 loose yesterday.
also the defining moments triple H, minus the clothes for $19.99 shipped
i never would have imagined getting those for anywhere near that price a few months ago.

True the head on Ultimate pink Bret is horrendous. In fairness every mattel Bret head is pretty horrendous. But at least that RSE one got the hair colour right lol

Ultimates will obviously drop elite prices down but Mattel did make legends such as Snuka who won't get that Ultimate for obvious reasons. Some elites will hold value depending on Mattel and what's re-released as Ultimates over time.

All toy second hand markets are taking a big dip. I agree it was at an all time high a year and a half ago, but then toy companies also started overproducing and just straight up re-realeasing figures that were sold out for a few years. Which started to make collectors panic and sell their prized collectibles before it loses all its value. Now, and especially with 1/6 figures, you can get figures 30-50% less than you would have had to pay back then. A great time to buy in on some of these great older figures. But, as a collector it sucks at the same time because you never know now if your "grail" or rare collectible will just be released again

Legion of Doom will hold values cus they'll never get elites again I wouldn't say that necessarily cause they could actually be coming sooner than we think especially with hunter in charge now. Same goes for demolition remember never say never in the wrestling world

Cannibalized by both Ultimates and "Greatest Hits" line. Local toy store has all their loose Elite with accessories $10. Too good to pass up

We are all free to have our own opinion. Nothing wrong with that. Until then we can agree to disagree. Of course, I don't have the RSE Bret so I have nothing to lose 😂

As someone who collects to have figures and not to resell them or use them as an investment, I welcome this in order to obtain older elites I may have missed out on originally or before I started collecting.

Remember all lines run their course and come to an end eventually. Except for Hot wheels, Barbie, and Lego's.

Due to how much space my figures take up, I made the hard decision to only collect ultimate edition figures as well as exclusive elite figures. Eventually I'll sell of my elites, but I might keep a few. I hope in the future, ultimate's get more than 2 figures per series. I would love to see it become 4 eventually. At least the legend ultimate's were a great idea by Mattel.

I’m also running into a space issue with my moc collection. I’ve begun opening some and some others I might sell off or trade.

i for one can't wait to see people cry about how a figure they paid hundreds for a few years ago is going for much less in a little while I think a lot of the high value older figs will stay high. Guys like the Von Erichs aren't likely to get Ultimates if they even get figures again, and a new versions of Akeem seem unlikely in today's political climate.

If the Von Erichs are signed with Power Town, then they won't be getting Mattel figures for the time being.
