WWF for me. Looking at both cards very few matches I’m interested in but the momentum WWF had at this time was too good to ignore. I’ve got it in my head that the patriot took Austin’s spot at this time period, can anyone confirm that? Probably, here in the UK we had One Night Only around this time and the initial advertisements had Austin Vs Hart listed.

I noticed I haven't been voting on these. Whoops
Regarding October. The WWF card really just has nothing for me besides Hell in a Cell. Something new and interesting. I was never a fan of The Patriot so even though I'd have a bit of interest in teh Flag match it's not something I would need to watch
On WCW side Piper vs Hogan again? 3 times in less that a year? No thanks. Savage vs DDP would have my interest and Luger vs Hall and Henning vs Flair is big names and teh chance Rey Jr could unmask is interesting
Even though the match I would wanna watch most is HBK vs Taker in Hell in a Cell I'll go with WCW since overall I would have more interest in more matches
WCXW

Regarding which WWF won, Luger was champ going into Road Wild, no one was that interested on seeing if Hogan would win title again?

Wow. So here's the deal. The WWF had Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker and that's about all I am interested in looking at the WWF card. In hindsight, this would go on to be one of my favorite debuts (Kane) and my personal favorite Hell in a Cell match, but WCW had the following matches that catch my attention just looking at the cards: - Yuji Nagata vs Último Dragón
- Chris Jericho vs Gedo
- Rey Misterio, Jr. vs Eddie Guerrero
- Curt Hennig vs Ric Flair
- Randy Savage vs Diamond Dallas Page
- Roddy Piper vs Hollywood Hogan
WCW wins for me here.

Badd Blood one of my favourite non big 4 events in retrospect. However I’ll go with WCW on this one Most of the matches 2sweeeeet has mentioned have piqued my interest and will put this event on my watchlist.

I love Hot Rod but I was over the stuff with Hogan by this point. I was invested with HBK/Taker in the cell so with that....
WWF

Hennig/Flair is the only match on the WCW card that interests me, so my October vote goes to WWF.

Hell in a cell is one of my favourite matches of all time and in hindsight I would pick WWF everytime. However, as the point of this is to put ourselves back at the time before these shows happened. I have to say, WCW gets my vote here.
Outside of Shawn Michaels Vs Undertaker nothing on the WWF card appealed to me a great deal. Had it been another one Vs one Bret Hart Vs Patriot with some kind of gimmick, this may have been closer. At the time while I was into Bret Vs Patriot, the tag match here did nothing for me.
WCW on the other hand had DDP Vs Savage which is one of my all time favourite WCW feuds. Plus a few more or the matches on the undercard interested me more than what WWF was offering.
So yeah, WCW gets my vote this month.

This was a tough choice this month as at Havoc you had 2 of my all time favs in Flair/Hennig and the finale of Mach/DDP but I'm staying firm with WWF.

A real tough choice this week. Both were good. WWF Had the best match, for sure, with Taker/Shawn, and I liked the Bret/Patriot stuff. WCW had four top matches this time with Hogan/Piper, Flair/Hennig, Luger/Hall, and Savage/DDP. So, I'm going to go with WCW, mainly for DDP/Savage, but it was a close one.

If I’m not mistaken, how rotten that Piper/Hogan match was basically ended Piper’s in ring run as a main event star. That match was that bad.

I watched both these events that year on PPV, and I felt I enjoyed the entire WCW PPV more so than the WWF PPV.
Yes, WWF had HIAC with Taker vs. HBK, but that to me was the only decent match on that PPV.
I just liked WCW. It had Eddie vs. Rey, Savage vs. DDP, Hogan vs. Piper, Hennig vs. Flair, Luger vs. Hall. To me, it was just a better PPV over all than WWF.
So I pick WCW on this one!

Interesting one had WCW's MOTY and WWF's had it's MOTY or 2nd best depending on who you ask.

Interesting one had WCW's MOTY and WWF's had it's MOTY or 2nd best depending on who you ask. Interesting take. Yeah, this was WCW MOTY (DDP/Savage) but to me, Bret/Austin at WM13 was WWF's match of the year with Taker/HBK being #2.

I remember watching these 2 back in 1997 & I was looking forward to WCW more for a couple of reasons.
If anything I didn't care about Bad Blood and was then blown away by it.
But WCW for me
