Just got an email from Jada saying that Dhalsim & M. Bison will go up for pre-oreder on B B t S & EE Monday at 9 am.

Just got an email from Jada saying that Dhalsim & M. Bison will go up for pre-oreder on B B t S & EE Monday at 9 am. I got that, too. Hopefully Amazon gets them, because that's where I got Ryu and Fei Long. |

Apparently there's a pink Chun-Li and a Violent Ken on the way, as well as a Next Level Fei Long (not sure what that is). I guess I missed the leak back in January (or, more likely, forgot I read about it). It's exciting, but I'm starting to get a tiny bit nervous that this line and Jada are going the way that pretty much all the other SF and MK lines and their manufacturers have gone: so many variants while new product that's been shown isn't seeing the light of day yet. Jada Toys says they are committed to completing the Ultra Street Fighter II roster, but after Ryu, Ken and Guile, they dont have too many characters that can anchor a wave. |

I think Akuma would be a good candidate being an anchor, though Jada have changed their stance on calling them Waves due to the delays & issues with distribution. |

I think the variants/repaints should/could be saved for anchoring waves if they feel they need that. The problem with that is we're getting variants elsewhere already, though if you're just looking to please retailers and new consumers, it would work.
I don't care how they do it, I just really want the SSFII roster.

At the end of the day, they have to make these variants to turn a profit on the molds. Sadly they can't just reuse the same mold like other toy companies are doing (nor would I really want them to).
Honestly, the variants are at least decent color choices compared to the Neca SFIV figures and at least the shotos have a reusable mold. That being said, I feel as though the line has been successful enough that they should be able to keep going even if it takes a bit longer than we initially hoped.
Still better than waiting for Storm Collectibles.

Got Dhalsim & Bison from P-a-u-l m-a-r-t today. They seem to get them first every time, so I think going forward I'm going to get all my street fighter figures from them, minus the exclusives. They're both great additions. The Dhalsim has real metal earrings, which I thought was a nice touch. The fists don't come out of the long arms though, which I would have rather displayed him with closed fists, but it's not that big a deal. I also wish he came with his yoga fire & yoga flame accessories, but again, I wouldn't have displayed him with them anyways, so no big deal either. I'm guessing from what they're doing with the new pink Chun-li & new Fei Long that they'll make a deluxe version down the line in a different color that will come with them. The Bison is great. I really like the cape, I don't think I've had a figure with the wire frame cape, & it's really cool. He comes with extra should pads too if you want to display him without the cape. He comes with a glowing fist accessory which is nice, & could be used for another line like X-men's Bishop or Mr. Sinister. No Psycho crusher, but the may come with the Deluxe alternate color version eventually? Not too sure about that as I'm not sure how they would do it. So now I have 7 out of the potential 20 figures. I don't plan on getting any color variants, but am very satisfied with the line so far. Pic below.  |
