I just want a logical reason why anyone is upset about a rerelease.
These things weren’t exclusives and were mass released.
I just don’t really understand why you’d be upset that thousands of collectors are getting a shot at when you’ve already got your one or two or whatever..
I have some things that are expensive on the secondary market and never do I look at something like Wolfpac Sting and say “hahahaha I have two and it’s expensive on eBay” I just appreciate having it in my collection.
To each their own but some people act like spoiled brats over these rereleases

To each their own but some of you act like spoiled brats over these rereleases I don’t think there is a logical reason. 90% of the time it sounds like sour grapes because someone decided to overpay for something and are now upset that it’s rereleased at the normal price. At the end of the day it’s a toy. I can see being upset if it was a SDCC Exclusive that got a straight up rerelease because it was an event exclusive. But not a mass retail toy.

PJ that’s pretty much my thoughts on it. It’s a selfish take imo. I think it’s apart of the “it wasn’t easy for me so it shouldn’t be easy for anyone else” mentality and that’s pretty toxic AxelSmackdown I wonder why he thinks it’s less special? It’s not like these things are are 1/1000 or something. The first few waves hit during Covid and many people had a hard time finding them. I saw HHH once and got it but I don’t have this “nanner nanner boo boo” thought process on why thousands of other collectors should have to pay $100 for it I think it’s like PJ said. 90% of it is either folks that paid secondary and are mad now or it’s the people trying to make a fortune off selling toys on the secondary market

how do they go and re-release without improving them?
That first UE torso is absolute trash! hence why they changed it, imagine if he had the butterfly torso...
also what is the point of re-releases if the distribution is limited?
anyways whatever you pay for Triple H is still to much

I could understand not updating the Bret, but releasing that HHH again exactly as it was sucks. That torso is ass and the arms have pins. The parts they would need to update it already exist too, they made that 2006 HHH with butterfly joints and pinless arms

we knew these were coming but we didn't know which characters were being re-released. wish there was an update on the articulation but it's fine.

What's the point re-releasing these Ultimate's without the updated butterfly joints? Makes no sense.

The only difference might be the way they are displayed. For every figure that might hold some value, i have many more others that are only worth chump change.

I don't get the "re-releases are killing collecting for value" argument.
They're wrestling figures, not stocks. Collections are supposed to bring joy, not have you hypersensitive to value where that's all your mind goes to when you think or look at it.
Just my two cents.

Lol ok

I’m glad they are re-releasing figs now. I just hope they keep re-rereleasing harder to get figures. There’s no need to re-release a figure that’s only like $40-$50 (or less) on secondary.

I’m glad they are re-releasing figs now. Me too. A lot of folks who never thought they'd get a Harley Race Elite will now get one soon, and I'm a guy who paid almost 200 for one about three years ago. I think that's pretty great. Bring on re-releases of Akeem, Martel, Bundy, the Von Erichs, the Road Warriors, and all those other high-priced figures people like me missed out on getting because we were late getting into the game or whatever. Not mad at all.

I've honestly never bought a figure with the idea that it will be worth a certain amount in the future; I buy figures that I would like to add to my (too big) collection; I've never sold a figure (yet).....
I cringe when I scroll down my social media feed & see people who have just purchased a chase figure or a 1/5000 AEW item & are posting it asking "how much money is this worth?" They are buying items blindly with the idea of re-selling them for a profit. And then the collectors' can't find them for a reasonable price.
Collectors buy these toys because we love them & enjoy them. Now Mattel is trying to put a few of the popular ones into more people's hands and we're on here griping about that.
I just don't get it.
PS: I thought that Triple H figure looked terrible then, and I think it looks terrible now. Didn't buy it then and I won't buy it now. Am I the only one that thinks the face looks goofy as hell?

Mattel could satisfy both the regular collectors and the MOC collectors that do like the fact that certain figures values go up by slightly altering the box so you could tell which one was the original and which one was the rerelease. Everyone wins if Mattel did that…..The ppl who missed out can get the figure at retail prices and the moc collectors still have value of the original release.
P.S. If it wasn’t for people buying to resale we never would have gotten the New Gen arena and all those UE figures so I can see both sides.

If we're re-releasing figures, can Defining Moments MSG Triple H be next?
