I don’t think either were pegwarmers around here. But they were plentiful in regards that you could find them on the pegs almost until the next waves hit. What's the point re-releasing these Ultimate's without the updated butterfly joints? Makes no sense. Because they are called the “Best of” so they are going to be straight Re-Releases. They’ve been doing “Best of” lines since 2010 and the only time I can remember the “ Best of” being any different was the first Elite Triple H. The first release the figure looked like he was wearing a bad toupee. The Best of figure the hair line looked like it was part of the sculpt with no gap between the hair and head. Hi PJ. What about the new Best of Elites that have updated face printing and double jointed arms? And even in the last case where Undertaker got a different headscan for his best of? These should of been updated imo. I really wanted this Triple H with the butterfly joints. The old torsos suck.

To re-add to the conversation I hate that HHH figure, but I want to love it. If they had improved it with a new, non-suck-ass, non-Final Count-looking torso and added the face printing I'd get it in a heartbeat, as that's the definitive HHH for me. Too bad that it's received very little fig love since the earliest days of TTL. I don't count the gold one that came with Jeff. It was a good figure, better than this hunk of ass, but personally I prefer the silver over the gold by a large margin.

Why would it bother you that they’re re-releasing these? unless you’re planning to sell the ones you have. They’re going to be around the same price they were when they were first released so why does that bother you. If you bought them on the secondary market and spent more, that’s nobodies problem but yours. That’s the risk you take.
Shut up about how Mattel does business and worry about the quality of the stuff you’re buying.

I hope they do oWn Warrior. I don’t want to pay $100+ for a figure I’ll forget about 10 minutes after I buy it. Just let me get that one re-release and I’ll be satisfied.

Sucky move once again. And they wonder why lines fail. They could easily released different attires on the same molds. Some pisspoorstaff at Mattel making these decisions. Totally effortless. The line is sucking more and more by the minute.

I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with this unless they are sitting on a stack to resell or paid 120+ for a toy and regret it
It’s not slowing down the regular line or affecting any other UE sub line, only helping those that might not have been collecting at the time or passed on them only for them to shoot up in price
I was happy I didn’t have to pay 200+ for UE4 HBK and I’m happy I don’t have to pay crazy prices for these

What people are upset about is that it’s being rereleased with the exact same packaging which will affect value of the original figure. Some ppl like myself enjoy rare hard to find figures and enjoy the up and down pricing on the secondary market. Nobody is saying Mattel can’t do it ….We’re just disappointed that they couldn’t slap a “Best of” on the packaging so the original owners that are MOC collectors will still have a more valuable figure.

I know Mattel have been releasing the "best of" line for years but Mattel had the perfect opportunity to correct that hideous Triple H torso with this new re-release. Also the price for these re-releases is the same with those with the butterfly joints so again you get less for what you pay for. I already have the original release of Triple H moc so won't need another.

Absolutely LOVING all the salty posters not happy about this. Get over yourselves. Thousands of people had very little opportunity to get these at retail or weren't collecting at the time of release. You can argue ALL you want but I'll laugh at you because my local Target got none of these! Never had a fair shot and I refuse to pay those insane prices. Couldn't be happier for this opportunity. Obviously Mattel is taking advantage of the CERTAINTY that these will move 100% of their stock and that's a valuable tool to have. Those claiming that doing this is "killing the line" couldn't be more comically incorrect. The line is thriving and more collectors have gotten in because they've had opportunities to get older Ultimates that fetch ignorant prices on eBay.
This thread should serve as a nice indicator of who the selfish posters are on this board.

Honestly I keep forgetting about them because I have zero desire to ever buy Rikishi and other than the Rey which is a pass for me II have the originals of all the others and don’t see the need to update them. So I honestly forgot about them.

I don’t know for certain but seeing they’re a couple years old now I would think maybe the upc on the box of the new ones would be different.

Unnecessary rarity sucks when it’s a mass produced 30 dollar toy, if you keep them in the box for the sole purpose of making money off it you’re a loser. You enjoy the up and down pricing, here comes the down, enjoy it

By slapping a “best of” sticker on the box everybody would be satisfied. Nobody should be keeping figures in a box for the sole purpose of selling them but it’s also perfectly fine to do that regardless. Also nobody is saying Mattel can’t do this….They can do whatever they want as a business and ppl have to the right to speak about that weather positive or negative.

Loving all of this. I got back into wrestling last summer and remembered how much as a kid loved playing with my jakks so I looked into how things are today and started collecting . Bummed I missed out on a lot but happy I joined in a time where there’s so many chances to get what I missed. Also for all the salty people who feel like their collection gets devalued, you’re in it for the wrong reasons. I’m big on fashion, I bought a certain beanie I liked for retail and soon after it sold out and a few famous people wore it the resell shot to over $1k, but that resell value doesnt give me satisfaction that I own it. I get my satisfaction by just owning what I like not that it has a big price tag behind it. Just like all the other clothes I have that either cost alot at retail or shot up in price on secondary market. I buy what I like to wear just like how i’m doing with these. I’m buying the wrestlers I liked as a kid not to try and stunt on other collectors that I own some overly priced thing that others can’t get

This is a surprisingly upbeat general consensus for this forum. Seems most here actually have no qualms with re-releases. Neither do I, for what its worth. I alreadh have both and wont be getting either, but great for folks who want to display them in numerous attires/posesor missed out/couldnt afford at original release. Instagram is a nightmare right now with complainers. And I havent even looked at poor AFA's thread yet to be fair.

Truly don’t see why they couldn’t just upgrade the Triple H, in the future if they do this again I’d want any figures before series 7 to have butterflies and pinless arms added
