Picked up Maul the other day. I have a love/hate relationship with him...I love the figure, but hate the prequels, haha. I was originally going to get Luke, but upon closer inspection, the figure I saw had some paint issues. So I went with Maul, since in spite of the movies, the figure looked really nice and the character is cool. I'm not sure if this is the case with the 6" line, but are Maul's saber blades shorter than Luke's? One thing that always bugged me about the 3 3/4" line was Maul always had these shorter saber blades (which makes sense if it's one piece, but if there are removable blades it makes no sense). I think the only regular figure that had full-size saber blades was the third version of Maul from the Episode 1 line WAY back in like 1999, with the softgoods skirt thing and the removable blade lightsaber. Either way, though...this figure is awesome, and I'll probably spring for the others soon.

Quick question, what's the rarest Star Wars thing at retail? And what is it worth?

Quick question, what's the rarest Star Wars thing at retail? And what is it worth? A lot of the vintage package star wars figures go for fair amounts on ebay, such as Starkiller, Shae Vizla, Ahsoka Tano, plus a lot more. But in my expiernce (coming from a guy who has well over 600 star war items) it takes a couple of years for figures to become "rare" or "valuable."

I think when they make a vader for the black series I will be sold. Right now they are just too expensive.

Look at WWE elite figs, $18 dollars, plus tax, for a figure and an accessory. For the Star Wars figures, you get about 4-8 accessories, very detailed paint job on the figure, and in my opinion the star war figs look so much better than WWE elites.

That, plus totally unique sculpts. With something like WWE, Marvel Legends, or DCUC, many of the parts are all re-used over and over. The Black series seems to be 100% unique per figure, so it makes the price tag a little more reasonable to me. Here's a B-side to that Maul pic, I like the angle better in this one.

I think the 6" Star Wars figures are too expensive....but I understand their price. The 3.75" ones are between $9.99 and $11.99 depending on what store you are getting them at, so for 6" figures to be $19.99, it makes sense.
I mean, I still wish it was less. I bought all of Series 1 (Luke, Sandtrooper, R2-D2, and Darth Maul)....I got Darth Maul because it was a really well done figure, but except for Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon from the prequels, I don't plan on buying any characters other than those from Episodes 4-6. None of those characters in the prequels interested me...Maybe I'll get a Mace Windu just to have a 6" Samuel L Jackson, but other than those 3, I'm sticking to the original trilogy.

I have a major OCD problem when it comes to Star Wars figures. 3 times now I have built up a huge collection of the 3.75" figures only to sell them. I would love to get the new 6" line but know I'd end up buying everyone released and just don't have the money or space to display them when my WWE figures own pretty much the whole room.

If that's all you're after, why not track down the Hasbro Nick Fury from the Captain America movie line? It's a good figure, I've got one. But I agree with you on the Prequels, a lot of the appeal for Episodes 1-3 has faded for me. As I mentioned above, I wasn't originally going to get Maul, but the Luke I saw had some paint issues on the figure. Truth is, Maul is a great figure, and even though the movie was ass, the character has a lot of intrigue and looks good in my collection.

Maul is my favorite from wave 1. It'sjust a solid well executed figures. I liked some aspects of the prequels but on a whole the original trilogy was much better. Hoping to see Qui Gonn and Obi Wan from episode 1 to go with the Maul

FINALLY found these guys today at K-Mart surprisingly. Only had r2, Luke and Maul. I wanted the Sandtrooper badly until I saw a video review showing how his armor affected articulation and that kinda broke the deal for me. I got Maul and I am really really impressed. The black series 3.75 inch figures look terrible now with no leg articulation, I guess all the money is going towards the 6 inchers and it shows. My ONLY problem with the figure is when he has the cloaked head on, he can't stand without some finagling.

Saw that the 6" series 2 figures are up for pre-order on Amazon @$22.99 a pop. (Ouch!) Han looks great in package: Slave Leia doesn't quite look like Fisher, though.

If I was a MIB collector I'd have preferred Han to have the gloved hands and his holster on instead of the bare hands and Stormtrooper's belt.

Hey guys I have been a long time collector of Star Wars Figures I started with the Power of the force line when I was a kid and collected most of the Revenge of the Sith figures but got out after that but still kept them. I went to the Salt Lake Comic Con today and met David Prowse, Ray Park and Peter Mayhew and it finally drew me back in to wanting to collect the other figures that I grew up on. So my question is what does everyone think of the current product? I see a lot of the Black Series in 3 3/4 inch and 6 inch the 6 inch ones look amazing to me. I also see what looks like old carded figures from the 80's and ones that have 3d glasses with them. Any help would be great thanks!

The Black series are the current lines, so that's what you'll probably want to collect if you jump back in. The Vintage collection were cool (the ones with the '80s packaging) but that line is over.

Sideshow Collectibles 1:6 scale line is the ultimate Star Wars figure line to date! Some are expensive, but Sideshow has payment options. The Darth Vader coming in 2014 is epic! www.sideshowtoy.com enjoy. The 6 inch Black Line is another great series that just started, so you won't have any catching up to do.

And the 6" Black line looks like it's going to be a great line to start up with
