So, after reading here about "Paul" on eBay I think I know what is happening now. If any of you are sneakerheads or are into sneakers in general, you may be familiar with a term called "backdooring". This is something that happens at shoe stores around the country, where they get in a stock of limited release shoes only to already be sold out by the release date. Usually what happens is a manager or store owner is literally selling them for above retail and letting all of the pairs go to a single buyer or a few buyers, only for them to put them up for sale on the resale market at a huge markup. Make me wonder if the same thing is happening with this guy. I've never heard it mentioned before but I've seen and heard enough of this and it's always from Walmart. Sadly, nothing will change unless Mattel actually does something about it, if this is the case. Not saying this is definitely happening here but it certainly sounds like it to me. I don’t think that’s what’s happening here. Apparently he orders his wares directly from Mattel Asia. He basically said as much when he posted some MotU Origins minicomic Man-E-Faces that had a melted bubble. You can also see Mattel cases in some of his listings that have his store’s name printed on them (similar to EE, who I believe also orders direct). And because he’s ordering straight from the manufacturer, he gets domestic exclusives and products way earlier than other retailers. |

He has a deal with mattel ( can get resupplied whenever he wants ) which would mean that certain lines are not exclusives to walmart after all. 2. He bought a crapton of preorders and has priority and thus didn't get his preorders cancelled. Unlikely since he has run out (or simply hid the listings) and then got resupplied. 3. Has a backdoor or simply works at a walmart and gets everything that comes in. It doesn't explain how he got figures during certain months when we know they were not even sent to walmart yet. Figures that were still on preorder for example. 4. Combination of the above? Maybe 1 and 2 but if he has a deal with mattel than he doesn't need to buy them at/from walmart. But he could be resupplying that way too. I don't mind resellers but what I do mind is mattel claiming figures are in stock, then cancelling preorders and then finding them only on one 3rd party store online way before they are even sent to walmart werehouses. The silence from execs at mattel is deafening. Maybe they aren't concerned if they are able to sell them to Paul at a higher price point (would explain the 29.99 pricepoint). Lastly I can understand him ordering motu directly from mattel but superstars are supposed to be available only from walmart... Starting to think mattel is directly involved now since they obviously resupply him without question |

I think I just got lucky with JBL. I must have walked in a few minutes after they had just put them out. It was 2 full cases of JBL, Torrie and Edge. I went back the next day and ALL were gone.. like they were never even there. |

I think I just got lucky with JBL. I must have walked in a few minutes after they had just put them out. It was 2 full cases of JBL, Torrie and Edge. I went back the next day and ALL were gone.. like they were never even there. If you want Shelton let me know and I’ll pick him up if I see him again Seems like I’ve told 3-4 folks I’d pick up (insert figure) if I see it again and I don’t see it again.. makes me feel like a d*ck |

I’m still looking for BL and Kama but I’m hopeful I’ll eventually be able to track those two down. Yeah I wouldn’t worry about the Target legends. Worst case you can order it from target pretty soon But I’ll grab any of the others if I see them. I got a couple Robs from Paul the scalper. Im tired of the Walmart bullsh*t. It’s almost unbelievable in the incompetence of Walmart and Mattel versus Target and Mattel I go to Target more often than Walmart, and I have a Walmart five minutes away from me while the closest Target is 20 minutes at best. And that's because I find stuff at Target all the time. I did find an Eric Bischoff, Taker, and Austin a couple weeks ago at my Walmart, but the stars must have aligned that day because I also found an UE Roman after thinking I'd never see one since, you know, Walmart sucks lol |
