So, after reading here about "Paul" on eBay I think I know what is happening now. If any of you are sneakerheads or are into sneakers in general, you may be familiar with a term called "backdooring". This is something that happens at shoe stores around the country, where they get in a stock of limited release shoes only to already be sold out by the release date. Usually what happens is a manager or store owner is literally selling them for above retail and letting all of the pairs go to a single buyer or a few buyers, only for them to put them up for sale on the resale market at a huge markup. Make me wonder if the same thing is happening with this guy. I've never heard it mentioned before but I've seen and heard enough of this and it's always from Walmart. Sadly, nothing will change unless Mattel actually does something about it, if this is the case. Not saying this is definitely happening here but it certainly sounds like it to me. I donβt think thatβs whatβs happening here. Apparently he orders his wares directly from Mattel Asia. He basically said as much when he posted some MotU Origins minicomic Man-E-Faces that had a melted bubble. You can also see Mattel cases in some of his listings that have his storeβs name printed on them (similar to EE, who I believe also orders direct). And because heβs ordering straight from the manufacturer, he gets domestic exclusives and products way earlier than other retailers. That only makes the issue worse. So since he wants to cough up a boatload of cash, the exclusive figure isn't exclusive anymore and he's basically getting primary selling rights, considering Walmart does nothing to manage the inventory. If he's undercutting Walmart in an exclusive line deal between Walmart and Mattel, that sounds like a major problem. Saying he gets exclusives "earlier" isn't true in this case because he has a large inventory of figures that somehow are bypassing the nationwide chain/biggest retailer in the country. These figures are scheduled to be on Walmart shelves right now. Not in his garage. And it is backdooring. It doesn't matter where he got them. He has a seemingly endless supply of these figures coming in all the while the stores get 2 at a time or in most cases, none at all. He can charge whatever he wants for them and we are at the mercy of the market makers. |

I still havenβt seen Shelton out in the wild. I think I just got lucky with JBL. I must have walked in a few minutes after they had just put them out. It was 2 full cases of JBL, Torrie and Edge. I went back the next day and ALL were gone.. like they were never even there. If you want Shelton let me know and Iβll pick him up if I see him again Seems like Iβve told 3-4 folks Iβd pick up (insert figure) if I see it again and I donβt see it again.. makes me feel like a d*ck Well Iβll be.. found my first shipper and Shelton!  |

Only thing I remember about them when they signed is people asked who they were and everyone responded "A couple of pot head spot monkeys"....I think he got fired for dressing like Hitler or something. |

His wife at the time, Kimber Lee made accusations of domestic abuse, then an old pic of him with the Adolf mustache and I believe throwing up the salute was posted online, and that became the straw basically and he was fired. |

From yesterdays shipper I picked up RA 3 Shelton, Nash and Greatest Hits Rock. Today I picked up Elite 99 Rollins and Greatest Hits Taker. Not a bad two days.
Still not a single sign of any RA Ultimates though.
