What is with ignoring the fact that virtually all of the best ECW talent was prominently featured on WCW or WWF during the height of the Monday Night War? I mean seriously, Raven, Sandman, Franchise, Sabu, Jerry Lynn, Taz, the Dudleys, Rhino, Tajiri, Lance Storm, Mike Awesome, Al Snow, Dreamer, Credible, Saturn, we're talking about guys who won titles, worked Mania, and virtually every wrestling fan from the late 90s remembers. I get that Mattel isn't going to make Simon Diamond or Masato Tanaka just for me, but Mattel made the Goon and the Zodiac, and talking about a guy like Taz, who had one of the best debuts in the history of WWE, at its most popular time in company history, as some kind of niche performer that would rot the pegs? That's ridiculous. It's a niche product with a niche roster for niche fans of a niche Era in that niche time. Correct. No one remembers or wants a Tracy Smothers from ecw A Freddie Joe Floyd however…now that’s guaranteed to FLY off the pegs |

No one remembers or wants a Tracy Smothers from ecw A Freddie Joe Floyd however…now that’s guaranteed to FLY off the pegs He could Freddie Joe with a FBI t-shirt! Worse things have been done and will keep on being done! But realistically, totally okay with getting ECW versions of guys we’ve already got. And as niche as we want to say ECW was Paul E. is coming with an ECW hat. That’s a positive sign! There’s hope. Not expecting much, but just one or two other guys to put next to Bam Bam and Cactus! |

Look at it this way, would you rather a Justin credible or a pj walker? His match on raw v yokozuna (5/10/93) was a barn burner. Far better than anything done in ecw. |

And when ECW was on TNN when their roster probably had their least amount of star power they were consistently averaging around a million viewers weekly. Pretty much on par with AEW today and definitely better than NXT. And this was on The Nashville Network before they rebranded that was predominantly known for country music programming that barely promoted ECW.

I always wanted a decent Taz. To this day, his original ECW figure is still the best.
His Jakks figures always had problems. They were too tall, too ripped, they had knee pads, there was always something off. I'd love a decent singlet Taz, short and stocky with a dark tan.

If Taz(z) we’re to sign on with WWE again I would much prefer a WWF/WWE commentator Tazz over a niche ECW Taz with an orange FTW belt. And we’re all just so glad we got Chainsaw Charlie instead of a (new) niche ECW Terry Funk with a soft goods Funk U / ECW shirt. I’d also prefer a Robby V from WCW over a prime but niche ECW Rob Van Dam.
