For those who have backed already, would you be content with just Rey and the stage? Yes. Obviously I would really rather have Steiner, but the stage is most important. If all we get is 5k. We have a Hall of Fame 5k only Rey Mysterio. People are paying 250$ for 1 of 5000 aew figures. So a 1 of 5000 Entrance and 1 of 5000 Rey will do.

Bill & Steve won't be at risk of losing their jobs, the Nitro stage was a venture that may not have delivered the results they (personally and as a company) may have hoped, but what Bill and Steve have done with the WWE figure line to this point, will have built up enough good will that they won't be going anywhere. And rightfully so. Biggest downside I see amongst all this, is the reserved and cautious approach Mattel may look to take toward all bar the absolute obvious WCW persona's that have sold well previously. Had this project shot the lights out, it may have convinced/persuaded Mattel to try and branch out into some deeper cut names that took part in the Monday Night Wars. That’s the problem, Mattel played too safe and too cheaply and used all the WCW guys who might have sold well previously. Fans are sick of those guys and want first time or deep cuts.

At this point, just gimmie Rey and the stage. I can do a kitbash earlybird Hogan by using:
*Jakks WCW RSC exclusive Bash at the Beach red outline Hogan bandana *Jakks WCW Big Gold V2 (with WWE logo removed) *Legends 18 WCW Hogan bandana *Legends 18 WCW Hogan wristbands *Amazon UE Hogan
If we don't get the stage... ugh, I don't even wanna think about it.

For those who have backed already, would you be content with just Rey and the stage? Yes I would the main selling piece for me is that stage. Sure I definitely would love to get DDP, Scott Steiner, and Ultimate Warrior apart of this deal. In the end that stage is once in a life time piece to a collection I can't pass up on.

Stop with this nonsense...fans didn't put their money where their mouth is Deep cuts wouldn't have hit 5k by the early bird deadline For those who have backed already, would you be content with just Rey and the stage? Yes...right now, I'm disappointed, and it's certainly sinking in that it's probably going to be just that, Rey and the Stage...which does suck. However, by next year, I won't care about the $400 and then it arrives it's gonna be cool as shit

So I finally backed it, and is the charge going to stay pending until it (hopefully) it gets backed on May 5? Or did they just charge me right now for the whole thing? Not a huge deal just curious, because I figured that no charge would appear on my bank account until the deadline day, but there it is right now the whole $400+. But I feel it would be a huge ing hassle for them to have to give 2,000 or more refunds if it doesn’t reach the goal Edit: okay just read the FAQ on the website and it’s just gonna stay pending lol

Well this is what you get when you alienate international buyers. I hope they have a good plan b cos I’d like the warrior to see the light of day. Cut Hogan loose and throw HH 96 Macho in for a 1 week early bird. Everyone who orders within that week gets Macho and Steiner is the base tier. Rey is 11k and Warrior is 9k. That’s what I’d do. If the price was closer to being inline with exchange rates and such where do you think this would be sitting? I don’t think it’d be that dramatic. Maybe we’d be in the 3-3.5K at best would be my guess. I think it could have been backed to 5k by today if they had not had this issue from the start. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think the entire rest of the world would back as many as the Americans have and I think the momentum from having the rest of the world backing from the beginning would have encouraged more Americans to back too.

They definitely screwed this up with the international thing. That’s the main mistake here

Backed 30x New Gen sets, backed now 1x WCW set 😅 and I struggled even with that.
1. It is now billed in euros. I can no longer benefit from the dollar/euro exchange rate.
2. I have to pay 50€ more WITHOUT REASON 😅 I calculated the customs costs and it is billed far too much. International customers pay €400 instead of $400. Which is a big difference + have to pay another 50€ (at least in my case) in addition to the high customs costs and for no reason. Bullsh*t!

Just baffles me they ‘fixed’ what was not broken. -Last campaign I paid $250 +shipping like the Americans did -I paid in $. It cost an extra few £ because of paying in a foreign currency. -it came out to around £190 -then I paid the customs fees when they arrived with parcel force for delivery -I backed 4 and it cost me less than £760 until the customs came in -no surcharges, no hidden costs. We knew what we were getting and that was that. We were treated the same as the Americans Who on earth at mattel even thought it was a good idea for us to pay for customs a year before it’s in our hands? I don’t want to pay thr £65 customs now let alone £175. You’re taking more of my money than you need to a whole year before I need to pay it. At £325 plus shipping I’d have easily backed 2. Maybe 3. Between this and the early bird/Hogan rerelease up. Mattel completely ed this up and I’ll be livid if they in any way blame the fans.

DDP should be in jeans with a soft goods shirt, Hogan is too similar to the earlier wcw ultimate, Steiner is disappointing with half his logos missing, Rey is utterly meh and the less said about warrior the better. It’s too expensive. International customers got screwed. If you like it then great, if you can afford it with no issues then great. But don’t make out like it’s collectors’ fault for not backing something that clearly hasn’t quite hit the right chord with people. The idea is sound, the choice of a Nitro stage is sound, it just hasn’t been put together quite right as an overall package.

They definitely screwed this up with the international thing. That’s the main mistake here There's three main mistakes/issues, imho: - the crazy overcharge on international orders (and no real explanation/breakdown from Mattel) - 4/5 uninspiring figure choices (especially the main/guaranteed one) - it's WCW, not WWE (it's a great stage - but WCW has far less of a fanbase/fewer collectors than WWE) If the set fails, this is completely on Mattel.

I think we all need to do our part to get this backed, when I mean all I’m talking about Mattel and us
What we can do? Buy Multiples if we can, it’s a great investment and is almost guaranteed to bring a profit and a for sure to always bring in what you paid for it, it’s a safe bet
What Mattel can do? fix these tiers, add Steiner to the 5k and I’ll back multiple sets right now, as I’m sure many would follow, I understand there won’t be any surprises or adds to the set that’s fine, let’s just fix these tiers and just this backed!

I could not agree more, I hope Mattel knows that the raw stage would have been way more popular and would have been funded by now
