Genuinely curious why some of you think this will still get funded without Hogan I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it needs 3,000 more backers just to get unlocked. So why will there be a big rush at the end when Hogan is off the table? The surge should’ve happened last Thursday/Friday and it didn’t. Well considering Steve was in here asking what problems we had with it, I think the prevailing opinion is that mattel will try something to course correct

Curious to see how it plays out

When I first saw this WCW entrance set a year ago or so ... I thought ... WOW! I want that! (so many people on this board were also begging to get it. I thought if they made that, it would be at least 300 to 500 dollars. The fact that it is $400.00 plus 5 figures to me was a no-brainer and I paid the second it became available. I understand if people don't care for WCW, an entrance set, the line of figures, the adjustable size, the cost etc ... totally get it! But I don't get the passion for bashing it - to want it to fail. The negativity. I simply don't get that on a wrestling site. I also wish people who say they would pay if it included everything ... would. The only way we would find out is if you did it now to see how many of you there are. ... and if at the end you aren't getting what you want, you could back out. The only other thing I would do - not my preference ... but I would do it. IF Mattel needed 4,400 backers that are guaranteed to get the Entrance set and all 5 figures for $1,000.00. I would do it. I would far prefer others would do it now at $400.00 but if that were the only way I could get all ... I would do it. I would even give Steve an extra $200.00 to deal with all of the negativity. .

Too expensive for me as a foreigner. (And too big).
I think that i would back it if we can have the Steiner Brothers (as i am afraid for Rick at mass retail).
Nitro Stage + Rey + Steiner Brothers at 7000 and i am in. (maybe even without Rey).

This is my first backing something up. Can anyone tell me what will happen if we do not get at least 5000 backers together? Do we get our money back then?
Maybe a stupid question but I just want to be sure because I have not found anything on MC.
Thank you.

If the project does not reach 5k backers by May 5th, anyone who preordered will have the pre-authorization charge removed from their credit card/payment method and the project does not get funded. You don't get charged unless the project is successfully backed on May 5th. Some international backers are saying that they are being charged up front though.

Another issue with the early bird Hogan you can just get a Legends 18 Hulk and throw the shirt on Fan takeover Hulk to make a WCW Hulk.

I think the reason that people want it to fail is because they feel it's the only way the message will get across? I don't think it's good value, even if it did hit 11k backers for all 5 figures. The figures are poor and the stage, though impressive, has been made a lot cheaper by custom stage makers and looks just as good. Not to mention the fact that a diorama of your own can include the TNT logo... I'm a little more salty being based in the UK and therefore an international customer, at the ridiculous markup which doesn't add up at all. If this succeeds, the people in charge think, oh this was a big success, we can charge another huge price for the next one. If it fails, surely they sit back and think, maybe everyone moaning about the price weren't just over-reacting etc, but actually had a point? New Gen wasn't worth it - Macho Man added - took it to good value status. This isn't worth it and it's really showing by the numbers unfortunately. I just feel sorry for the people that want this to become a reality because unless drastic measures are taken by Mattel, I can't see it happening.

I’m in the US and I canceled because I still had the pending charge on my checking account. No point in not having $400+ for a month when I can just wait and see how it looks at the end since Hogan didn’t get backed

No one needs it because you can diy. They have to throw in a figure everyone wants. Like they did with this awesome Macho in the new gen set. AND!!!! let the international customers pay in Dollar as it was with the new gen set!!11one

I just feel sorry for the people that want this to become a reality because unless drastic measures are taken by Mattel, I can't see it happening. I thank you for hoping it gets made for those of us who want it. I am also sensitive to you at the price and genuinely feel bad. But hoping it fails could also mean no need to pursue anything else that would deem to large for retail. That would be unfortunate. I brought up the successful Galactus figure from Hasbro .... because inflation is higher now by a lot than when it was available. WCW has more lights, more plastic. More figures, Larger with versatility to make smaller, never done before like the other Galactus figures I have ... but Galactus succeeded - so I could see why a transparent offering from Mattel to get all would work. Sadly, I think we are at the point that either more people jump in, Mattel gets creative to pitch another idea for this campaign soon or it fails. Rooting for everyone's success. Including a resolution for people outside the states.

I backed this (was #2002) after the Hogan deadline because that's when funds were available to me and ultimately I don't care about the figures. I'm here for the stage. To those that think they can DIY a stage this detailed for less than $400, you are out of your mind. This set is an awesome value, such a shame it's getting this much pushback.

Mattel have also shot themselves in the foot by having the Monday Night Wars line exclusive to a US store that us international customers don't have access to unless it's from a third party at inflated rates. This applies to the Legends line too. US store exclusives can be carried by international retailers if they choose to order them Yes, that's a problem that they don't but that's not the fault of the consumer. This isn't preventing them from offering them on Mattel Creations.

I could have sworn I didn't get charged any customs/duties fees on the New Gen arena. The base price on the website was in US dollars when I backed it, and then the charge appeared on my card it was in Canadian dollars.
This time around, dollar conversion is factored in, and a bunch of duties/customs fees are already applied which is odd. Why didn't I get charged for those last time around but am being asked to pay them (by Mattel not the courier in my country) now?
If this thing was available for just conversion, after shipping costs and tax it would come out to about $625 CAD which is a lot more palatable. As of right now, the crowdfund works out to just over $800 CAD after shipping/tax.

That would have been even worse. The $400 price tags is the stage and Rey. Everything else is EXTRA. So ok, take out Rey. The price tags for the stage would still be over $350. You think people would buy the stage for $350? Good luck. People won’t even buy the stage for $400 with the potential of getting five figures. The problem is that there is no potential of getting 5 figures. I am not knocking the set, nor any of the Mattel team that worked on it. It's still the most incredibly well done stage that ever did live.. however, it's not coming with 5 figures. If it was, it'd be backed by many more, I reckon. People are (rightly and realistically) wondering will they get 2 figures with it. To some, that just doesn't seem like good value (whether you agree with that or not, they're still entitled to their opinion).
I don’t disagree with the fact that we are most likely not reach any of the stretch goals, but what I was disputing is that it’s illogical to think the stage would have been funded as a product on its own when the stage would have been $350+ on its own. Also, you can’t really say there’s NO potential. Technically the crowdfund is all about potential. Is it highly, HIGHLY unlikely that we reach any stretch goal? Yes. But is it incorrect to say there’s a potential for five figures (or there was a potential for five figures before we lost hogan)? No.

Kind of a bummer that the jeans DDP will be an elite. Should of been a UE, especially after the long wait. The only thing I'm worried about now is that Mattel will screw up the jeans and won't also give him the serious/snarling headscans we want. The Assassin

You would have thought some of the exclusives that clog the shelves over there could be sent abroad to other companies. They would get plenty of sales and probably make a profit.
