It’s pretty simple actually: If you like it/want it, buy it. If you don’t, then don’t back it. Life goes on. While I don't fully disagree with this theory, the crowdfund element makes it a bit more nuanced than that. Someone could want it (and have the money to buy it) but mainly want DDP, Steiner, and Warrior and then end up getting none of them. While obviously that's a risk when backing any crowdfund, I do think the consternation with this set is more pronounced because of the way the tiers are aligned.

Why in the world are Hogan and Rey the first two figures? If they are truly these great sellers that everyone always buys then they should have put them at the last two tiers to ensure we get the highest number of backers.

Though I absolutely love the characters, I’ve never been able to buy a Warrior or Hogan fig because I can’t get past the real human beings behind the characters. CM Punk is kinda trending in that same direction, haven’t bought any of him yet either. Obviously everybody has their flaws, like Jericho supporting a certain former president, but something about Hogan and Warrior has always seemed different, at least for me personally. I wish I could get over it because their figures always look amazing.

I don’t think there’s any risk to backing early and see where it goes. You don’t get charged until the end of the campaign. So back it early to help unlock Hogan, then wait and see. If the final day comes and you don’t think all of your desired tiers are going to be unlocked then call and cancel. That’s my plan.

If you don’t like Jericho, Hogan, Warrior for their beliefs I don’t know what to tell you but the vast vast majority of wrestlers are conservatives.

I just hope we don’t have to wait another 2 years for the next crowd fund. I do want a funeral parlor set.
Ultimate Warrior Casket with 2 lids that are removable. One with the inside cloth normal and another with the cloth ripped from Warrior trying to get out.
UE Warrior UE Undertaker UE Paul Bearer
This would be an awesome set to have and honestly they could probably offer it for less than $200

Not sure if they would do a crowd funding for 200, I thought AFA said that $250 was the minimum they would do, otherwise it wouldn't be worth doing. The Warrior incident would be great, though I'd prefer the Funeral Parlor segment when Flair and Hogan met for the first time. If they could get more figures out, I wouldn't mind them throwing in Hogan, Flair, Savage, and Piper from that segment. Also add the Hogan casket as well. Adding 4 more figures would probably push it to $350 or more.

So you honestly think this’ll hit the 11K tier? I hope you’re right! I do. People talk a big game but at the end of the day they’re gonna begrudgingly buy it. Plus you’re probably gonna have Steve and Rob making the rounds on all the podcasts and YouTube shows selling the hell out of this making sure we reach the finish line. I think we very easily lose sight of the fact that this community is a very small slice of the pie. There's the Major crowd, many of whom only engage in those groups (I don't, so no clue what the reaction is there), and a lot of people who collect casually and never set foot into these online spaces. There are going to be collectors who never even knew the Amazon Hogan existed and will jump all over a WCW Hogan. The question is how effectively Mattel can reach those crowds or other casual buyers. I think a WM season reveal definitely gives them the best chance of getting in front of those eyeballs. And the structure sure makes it seem like they feel pretty confident about getting to around 8k and hoping Warrior and Steiner pull them higher. We'll see how effective the marketing is. We'll see how accurate their internal projections are. But I don't think any of these goals are wild when you look at the numbers other projects have done.

Hogan is there as the early bird to drive sales in the first week. Psychologically, people want to back a "winner." Look at last year - everyone sat on the sideline until the Macho early bird helped push people to back early. Warrior has a dedicated following and Steiner is a FTIL figure of arguably the biggest unmade name. They're there to drive sales around the point where Mattel thinks things will stall out. Putting the most desirable figures up front doesn't help sales. If they're sitting at 7,500 sales, Rey Mysterio isn't pulling people off the fence to sell another 500 units. Scott Steiner will.

And a lot of the MWFP community are blind followers. So if Matt is insisting them to go support it a lot of their marks will.

Let's not also forget the people who are rich too. I remember one guy here bought like 30 new gen sets. I hope Mattel advertises this set on Raw, Smackdown and WrestleMania. It seems like the perfect time to. I can't wait to see what Mattel has in store this year for WCW releases. I just hope it's not a damn Walmart exclusive. As much as I hate Amazon, I'd prefer grabbing it from there.

SDCC exclusives seem to carry more of a mainstream theme to them so a crowdfund might be more likely if it ever happens.

I hope Mattel advertises this set on Raw, Smackdown and WrestleMania. You'd think WWE would allow Mattel to advertise this stuff on their TV shows, but I bet they won't, or would insist on too high of a fee. I don't recall the New Gen set being advertised on WWE TV but I could be misremembering.

I think it's been quite a while since WWE advertised figs on TV. A social media campaign or WWE.com posting would help.

I collect all wwe 1970s-2009. Wcw from 1986-93 so this doesn’t fit my collection. I agree it is cool I guess tbh I think it could have better ultimate choices but I understand there thibking.
Hogan- again works well I think it’s hard to really argue he bumps this set.
Rey - again a staple of the cruiser weight division personally I think a 97 UE Eddie would have been awesome!
DDP - what other time would we get a UE DDP
Steiner - brilliant
Warrior - personally as we already have a wcw warrior I’d have liked to have seen maybe a Booker or Late 90s flair.
I think sid, Luger are two other choices potentially we could have used and I do think the outsiders may come later down the line with a UE nitro ring

I don't think WCW Nitro debut Hogan should have been the fig, it should've been a more intricately decorated Hollywood figure since we already have 3 red and yellow Ultimate Hogans, and this is basically the same as the Amazon fig. We all want more Hollywood though. They could've given him the Starrcade tights, or one of the ones with the film on the side, as those were very cool. Also the war bonnet and either the Hollywood Rules shirt or the Hogan Sunglasses Skull shirt. I still wouldn't have backed the stage, but I'd have gone to ebay to get the Hogan in that case

I’ll order this but I don’t see it getting backed sadly. Unless some company like ringside backs a ton and helps it and resells them parted out. I hope I’m wrong because I think this will ruin our chances of another entrance. I still think this was a bad choice. a Raw titan tron could have been so much better

I think this hits 5k. BUT DDP is a toss up and I don’t think there’s any chance we hit Steiner….

If you want this and can afford it, please back it as fast as possible. We need it to hit 5k before 4/7 and hit 11k before it ends.
Waiting until weeks in to back it because you’re concerned it won’t hit 11k will not help. You can cancel anytime before it ends, so if it doesn’t hit what you want before it ends you can just cancel.
