Nah man that’s just you. Most everyone here recognizes the effort that goes into these things and also understands that it’s more to it than just “Gimmie x,y, and z!! Make it $250 like the new Gen and let’s group them all into the base 5k tier cause then that’s really the value!!” Most everyone here can recognize that the stage itself is the $400 value. Like others, after trying to explain it to people many times and them still not getting it - you give up. International customers issue? Absolutely I agree with them - however everyone forgets Steve has said, multiple times, that he’s telling us the response he was given and has passed the feedback along from us. He’s done what he can do. The figures in each tier? He’s given us logical and reasonable responses that they are added incentives. Are they all the choices that we would have liked? No - but for it to be profitable for them AND still give us extra with the stage it was selected strategically. End of the day, we are collectors. We aren’t working with mattel and their team. Most of us aren’t qualified for their positions and wouldn’t even begin to know the ins and outs of their day to day business and all of the marks they have to hit for a product to get the green light. On top of that, I’m AMAZED Steve bothers coming back here after all of the harassment he gets on the board when trying to interact and collect feedback. Not everyone’s questions get answered, most move on and realize it will get picked up somewhere else by someone posting the exact same core question, just gotta be willing to do some reading. Those that don’t move on keep coming back whining and complains “boo goo Steve ignored me!” “Steve, answer MY question !” As others have said, after the way he was talked to a few nights back, most would have told the board here “screw it” and done it their way without interacting or collecting feedback. If you’re THAT unhappy with things, then just leave. Stop caring about this project. Move on. Realize that he’s doing this out of his free time trying to help. Steve left an hour ago, take your paragraphs and go cope in his DMs lmao. I’m good buddy 😁 like I said, when you continue to come in here and complain and whine and moan about the same issue over and over and over saying “pick me!” You’re the one that’s wanting the Steve attention. Couldn’t care less if he noticed me or not. Just want this stage to get funded.

Every character was the right choice:
Hogan: the face of the entire era this stage represents
Rey: cruiserweights were the backbone of the undercard. You can make an argument that either him, Eddie, Jericho, or Dean were the constant face of the division. Two aren’t available and Rey is more toyetic.
DDP: the people’s champ throughout this era
Steiner: FTITL figure we’ve been wanting forever
Warrior: his figures always sell, period. This has been highly requested look to be made.

My favorite discourse has been “They should have went with these figures. They should have went with these ones!” and then it’s not much better selections, unrealistic selections, or people Mattel can’t even make. I’ll agree with anyone that said jeans DDP, Booker T or Hollywood Hogan, but outside that, oof.

He doesn’t want honest discussion, he just wants to save face with his bosses and get your $$$. That’s why he’s here, not because he loves you. But I digress. Can’t fix delusional I suppose. I understand why he replied passive aggressively to you now.

Only figure choice I disagree with is the Hogan. Personally, I would have preferred the upcoming Elite in the Monday Night Wars series been turned into an Ultimate and put into this.

I just don’t think WWE were that concerned back then and prob have most a “yeah” unless there were real issues. But there’s so many variables - people reference jakks but they lost the license over 20 years ago! For one It was a very different time from a socio-political perspective. Someone with a troubled past or controversy in say early 2000 would get a very different reaction if done today. 15 years ago actually But still nothing stopping them from doing the Jakks approach and having somebody from WWE approving it. Going by what's been said, what's stopping them is WWE who wants the control now.

You’re absolutely right the figures were solid selections. Maybe not the greatest attires sure. But had iconic looks been trapped behind a crowdfunded that’d be what most would complain about. While not a one single issue is the main reason, I think a lot of it boils down to people having unrealistic expectations on the price of this set with LEDs and it’s size

I don't know if I fully agree there. Like neither would be a first choice of mine, but both of them are certainly integral to Nitro. Again, I think the bigger issue was the placement. If the figures were the exact same attires and design, but it was: Rey - 5000 Early Bird Steiner - 5000 unlock level. DDP - 7000 DDP Hogan - 9000 Warrior - 11000 I truly believe it would be doing much healthier right now (though I still don't know if it hits 11,000). I have no idea if that lineup would have been feasible, but judging by most reactions to the set so far, it would have alleviated many people's issues. Rey could’ve easily been swapped out for either one of the outsiders or Eddy Guerrero. Hogan while integral, wasn’t needed because we have so many being released, also they shoodl Probably get his skin tone correct. This one looks like he smeared pasta sauce all over himself lol Again, it's all relative. I could tell you 5 other WCW names I would prefer in those spots, but from a name standpoint, I think that any figures of previous released wrestlers in the spots Hogan and Rey are in would have faced similar issues.

I highly doubt they’ll extend how long the crowd fund is on for so really they should be as quick as possible rolling out whatever fix they have in store
I hope there’s more to it than just ‘we’re swapping hulk for Steiner’. Not sure it’d be enough to hit 5k especially without international support.

Positives I have noted.
1. I am grateful for this forum. 2. I'm even more grateful to have Steve from Mattel interacting with us, informing us, listening to us. This was something I loved when Mcfarlane had his old website. That was so cool when his peeps interacted with us! When that left - it was really disappointing. And there was a huge disconnect. This is the first place in awhile where I have seen direct answers consistently from Mattel and Steve. Thanks 3. I admire Steve and the Mattel teams passion, ability and willingness to pivot to make things work. 4. I also appreciate MANY of the collectors on this board! I love the different points of view, the information, the creativity and the respectful disagreements or ideas to get our passion even better.
Negatives
1. Some of the board members are downright mean, hostile and break the forum's policies in my opinion. They bully, mock, attack and make this place so undesirable at times that it lessens our army of wrestling collectors. Some are so negative in their desire to see things fail that I could swear they are marks from Hasbro infiltrating our happy place. 2. When some board members say "CAN'T" and belittle ideas and passion. My hope is that by Steve and Team rearranging the tiers (which some non-mattel) people said CAN'T happen ... hopefully will happen to show anything is possible. 3. I don't think people should suck up to Steve or feel that if they disagree they can't ... but wanting him to lose his job, attacking him or his company is wrong. If he answers the question you might not like the answer but at least we are lucky to hear it from him and not some belittling people acting like they are Steve - Mattel wannabes. I wish they wouldn't attack with emphatics instead of giving a respectful speculation or different point of view. Sets a much better tone and forum. 4. The last thing ... if you read this thread alone you will realize that it is impossible to please everyone. In fact, there is no scenrio I see that would be perfect or work without a lot of ("I would do it this way" - me included). So one can only imagine how hard it would be to find the right win solution for all of us.
When this campaign is over someone can make a thread on do's and don't's opinions on another thread but for now my hope is that we ban together and make this WCW Entrance Stage work!

Would’ve been better to have a brighter Rey attire. The purple/pink is just lacking.

Move Scott Steiner and Mysterio to be for the first 5,000 backers. Move DDP back to 9k and have Hogan/Warrior at 11k. Right now we need to get to 5k, after that it doesn’t matter to me what we get.

But where Mattel kinda messed up at is having too much of a high goal in this. Mysterio/Steiner should’ve been between 5-7k, they knew we had to atleast get to 5k, they knew 11k wasn’t going to happen , and I think when ppl seen that they backed out or just didn’t back it at all. Move Warrior/Steiner to 5k and push Mysterio back to 9k we would be alright .

WCW debut Rey was absolutely the right choice. I think he may have even won his first cruiserweight championship in that gear.

I think part of the reason Steiner and Warrior are further up the tier marks is because of the cost to produce them vs DDP, Hogan, and Rey. Hogan and Rey are just new headscans and a few accessories (I’d assume less money to make). DDP is new headscans only. Steiner has the headscans, and unique body mold. Warriors has the new lower mold, heads, and the duster. That’s the only Logical reasoning I can fathom the tiers were arranged in the manner they were

I wish they could swap out the base figure (Rey) as well. But I understand why they can’t (already 2,000+ sets sold using him as base). Great we’re getting Steiner. But that Rey is still a meh choice for me.
