The more I think about it, the more I'm coming to terms that I'm alright with getting this thing. Even though the figure choices included in this set don't fire on all cylinders for me, the truth of the matter is, I would buy them all if they were offered at retail. Ultimately, it's the entrance stage that I want. I'm just sour because there aren't more FTITL reveals outside of Scott Steiner. If they really want to sell this, I think they need to sell us not just on the set but also the possibilities. By that, I mean the potential this display playset has. The best way to do that is to reveal a WCW ring and a slew of FTITL WCW figures that will be coming as RSC exclusives and at retail. Even if they don't come with this entrance playset, the potential to display figures that we're for sure getting that I can buy later will go a long way.
On a side note, really, I care a lot more about the Nitro entrance playset than I would have about the RAW is WAR entrance playset. I have the ring and I was a big fan of wrestling at that time but if I'm honest, I'm getting a heck of a lot more excitement out of being able to recreate 90s WCW than I am about recreating that late Attitude era. It's weird because I definitely watched it and I was definitely a fan of Stonecold, the Rock, Taker, Kane, Shamrock, etc. I guess what the New Gen Arena set has really shown me is that I was a much bigger heart of hearts fan of WWF during that era and there was something about the Attitude era that while was a big part of my fandom, never really recaptured that same spark.

I am hoping Mattel will release some images or at least digital renders of what the figures will looks like with the soft goods, any accessories and maybe WCW themed packaging. They just look so plain as they are displayed now. Hard to even look at the as Ultimates.

I hear you, but the reality is there just aren't that many FTIL figures coming in general. They can only make who they can make. I'm sure they'll be adding to the WCW roster. There was a great list a few pages back, but there's a lot of low hanging fruit like NWO Hennig, Piper, etc who could really add to the roster. And we'll be seeing guys like Ultimo Dragon and Vampiro from Boss Fight. There's a pretty solid roster already of WCW figures. It's admittedly top-heavy. But it definitely captures the era well.

Yeah, you bring up a good point. I think the existence of companies like Boss Fight doing Juvi, Vampiro and Ultimo and even Jazwares AEW figure they did for a very young Chris Jericho as Corazon de Leon and the fact that they are pretty well in scale really strengthen the value I could get from this display piece. The truth is, Boss Fight, Jazwares, Chella, Powertown, etc. keeping everything in scale only makes every company stronger as a whole except in uncommon (but still annoying) instances where AEW snatched up Double J and Sting before their figures could be released at Mattel.

Still can't believe they aren't doing a mid-card wrestler that will never get an Ultimate. If only they were allowed to do direct deals with talent

You'd think WWE would allow Mattel to advertise this stuff on their TV shows, but I bet they won't, or would insist on too high of a fee. I don't recall the New Gen set being advertised on WWE TV but I could be misremembering. They definitely did not advertise the New Gen set on TV. I think it's been quite a while since WWE advertised figs on TV. A social media campaign or WWE.com posting would help. WWE.com posted it yesterday www.wwe.com/inside/mattel/gallery/wwe-ultimate-edition-wcw-monday-nitro-entrance-stage-photos#fid-40613965

I wonder if that is the nail in the coffin for some people? There is nothing else coming to push this over the line if it is sputtering. I’ve been back and forth on this myself but as it is right now, it’s a no from me. A RAW stage may have been a different story but there is no need for what ifs when we have a what is.

I expect Mattel to show off atleast 3 WCW Ultimates this weekend that would sway people to back the Nitro set. Maybe Outsiders and Booker T

Exclusive to this set. So if it doesn't happen we might never see these produced. And if they do get made if it succeds we might never see repaints of these attires so there is some rarity there.

I'm getting one. However, I'm just getting 1 this time. I hope people like myself who bought more than 1 new gen set and are buying just 1 nitro set won't negatively effect the effort needed to get 11k backers.

I don't fault anyone who decides not to buy it. But expecting that they would just keep throwing in items was never realistic. This isn't a Don West Shop at Home special. It's a very solid package and a good value. Hopefully there's enough interest to get it made and hit a few of the tiers.

The more I think about it, the more confident I am in this set getting funded. When I think about the New Generation set, I was actually really surprised it got funded based on the level of negativity surrounding it. I'm a huge fan of that era, probably more so than the Nitro/Monday Night Wars era and I'm pretty confident that I'm in the minority. That Diesel figure was pretty bland and Doink doesn't seem like someone who would be a major draw. Sure, that Macho Man early bird helped give it a huge push but is it really a "cool" Macho Man? It is to me, but I'm thinking about what would appeal to a wider collector market. Besides swapping out Diesel for something else like brainwashed pro-Japan Crush, everything about that crowdfund was a hit for me. But I saw tons of complaining and people saying how that era was one of the least popular and least cool eras. Again, this isn't what I personally think, it's just what I seem to see a lot where as this era of WCW and the Attitude Era seem to be looked upon more favourably. For me, of the 3 eras, it's New Gen > WCW Nitro Era > Attitude Era. But it seems with most posters, it's in the complete opposite with Attitude Era > WCW Nitro Era > New Gen.

Exclusive to this set. So if it doesn't happen we might never see these produced. And if they do get made if it succeds we might never see repaints of these attires so there is some rarity there. This is honestly fine with me. There has to be some incentive to back these projects. If people can just think "oh, I can get that figure for $30 at Target in a year" then it totally undercuts the crowd funded project.

Exactly. Which is why people “calculating” the value of each figure like it’s a standard release feels off. They will be limited exclusives, so obviously the price value would be higher.

These are all WCW Nitro era figures. I technically could be interested in every figure here on some level. In a market where I'm already used to companies like Hasbro using dirty tactics to force me to buy a bunch of crap I don't want with a mish mash of comic book and movie oriented figures just to assemble a build a figure that I do want. Heck, Mattel does this with WWE where I would be made to buy wrestlers I don't have a lot of interest in or don't even know mixed in with wrestlers I do know in order to get the parts I need to assemble a wrestler or manager who is sometimes 3 decades removed from the figures I'm made to buy, this is not even remotely that bad.

Also if this doesn't fund what is the chance we never see a stage again. You think hasboro is gonna retry the rancor probably not. So if you want the fist stage but didn't want to help tool parts to make it a reality why they gonna bother there just release a basic slam and wreck stage that's 2x to small for UE figures and save the hassle of putting these on. It's not a well they will learn and try again it's a well we tried to give you what you wanted in a way but it's obvious there is no real marketable crowd for these things people have been requesting you all wanted a stage here it is. Yes it's gigantic but that's what you wanted 😏

Yeah, my guess would be that they wouldn't be trying too many more times if this failed to work.
