The more I think about it, the more confident I am in this set getting funded. When I think about the New Generation set, I was actually really surprised it got funded based on the level of negativity surrounding it. I'm a huge fan of that era, probably more so than the Nitro/Monday Night Wars era and I'm pretty confident that I'm in the minority. That Diesel figure was pretty bland and Doink doesn't seem like someone who would be a major draw. Sure, that Macho Man early bird helped give it a huge push but is it really a "cool" Macho Man? It is to me, but I'm thinking about what would appeal to a wider collector market. Besides swapping out Diesel for something else like brainwashed pro-Japan Crush, everything about that crowdfund was a hit for me. But I saw tons of complaining and people saying how that era was one of the least popular and least cool eras. Again, this isn't what I personally think, it's just what I seem to see a lot where as this era of WCW and the Attitude Era seem to be looked upon more favourably. For me, of the 3 eras, it's New Gen > WCW Nitro Era > Attitude Era. But it seems with most posters, it's in the complete opposite with Attitude Era > WCW Nitro Era > New Gen. I'm a strong believer that the rollout was a bigger issue than the value of the product. They were requiring payment immediately on backing the project, which turned a lot of people off. The set itself was pretty well received when it was revealed. But there was no reason to be a Day 1 backer and basically give Mattel a 30 day loan. That led to an underwhelming launch day (I think there were under 1k orders). At that point the project was viewed as a "loser." Social media and forum feedback turned absurdly negative - how the product was a failure, wouldn't get made, etc. Perception is reality, as they say. Adding in the Macho early bird made a huge difference. But they also changed the payment terms, taking payment at the end of the crowd fund period. Sales jumped from there, and then there was a surge each time it closed in on another stretch goal. The Nitro/Raw Is War era definitely has a bigger fandom than the New Gen. I love each era in its own right, but simply based on eyeballs on the product, there should be a lot more people who have warm and fuzzies for Nitro. I do think there's a market for non-collectors to buy this product. If you were a WCW fan as a kid, this item is pretty much an instant collection (add in Amazon Goldberg, and if they show Outsiders UEs at WM) with top names of the era and a set that would be every kids dream circa 1997. We look at this from the perspective of (mostly) deeply enfranchised collectors who have half a dozen Hogans, have owned the Legends DDP for a decade, and just got E100 Rey Mysterio in the mail. For every one of us, there are 20 wrestling fans who will walk through the WM Superstore next weekend who haven't bought a wrestling figure since the 90s. If even a small fraction of those people are impressed and decide they want to buy this, the set will do better than people realize. Take a look at some recent Lego products - the retro castle, LotR set, etc. There are a surprising number of people out there who can drop $4-600 on a whim and not feel it.

Also if this doesn't fund what is the chance we never see a stage again. You think hasboro is gonna retry the rancor probably not. So if you want the fist stage but didn't want to help tool parts to make it a reality why they gonna bother there just release a basic slam and wreck stage that's 2x to small for UE figures and save the hassle of putting these on. It's not a well they will learn and try again it's a well we tried to give you what you wanted in a way but it's obvious there is no real marketable crowd for these things people have been requesting you all wanted a stage here it is. Yes it's gigantic but that's what you wanted đ I don't think people should buy this just out of fear of future releases not happening. If you don't want it you don't want it. That's cool. But there are definitely consequences. People act like it's a freebie to Mattel if this tanks. There's decent money invested in staff time, design, etc. There's definitely an element of dog catches car here. They literally gave us the exact stage they showed last year, with even more lights and effects. I'm sure some of the same people who were losing their mind asking Mattel to please make it as a crowdfund are saying that it's too big, too expensive, etc.

This seems over priced because it is. 5 Ultimates and this stage is probably worth 500+. But this is where theyâre going to get you. They likely know this wonât hit 5k buyers in a week, so right off the bat youâre likely not getting Hogan, and they also know itâs probably not hitting 9k backers and certainly not 11k backers. So youâre looking at only getting Mysterio, Stage and DDP for $450. If you look at it that way, definitely not worth it. But just because I want the stage, Iâll drop thr $400, but I donât see us getting all the figures with this and neither do they. Wait, if it doesn't reach 5k backers in a week, then no one gets Hogan? I thought if it eventually reaches 5k backers, and you purchased early (within the 1st week), then you get Hogan. But, if it reaches 5k backers in a week, then anyone who orders at any time (within the 1st week or at the last minute before the crowd funding closes) gets Hogan? Is that not the case? Just seen your question in the QnA. But buddy this is what it says on the mattel website. âEarly Funding Bonus: if we reach 5,000 early backers between March 29 and April 7, everyone receives an Ultimate Edition WCW Nitro Debut Hulk Hogan⢠figureâ

But I have to admit, it wasn't until I had it all in my hands that I realized how AMAZING and well worth it the entire set was. The Early Bird announce set with Wrestlemania X Macho Man just threw it over the top.

100 LED lights â¨ď¸ makes the new gen entrance look like a cheap dollar store knock off.
You are getting 2 ftil Ultimates DDP and Steiner.
They will have seperate packaging not bundled in with the stage. They will have full accessories
The shipping likely will be a chore because it's massive so was the glactius it won't be worth 2 or 3 times right out of the gate but if investing is all you collect for wait a few years đ.
The value I would say is there because if it gets made that's 4 or 5 UE that will gain value hell triple h and Bret UE were pricey until the re released them but these are only being made for this deal according to Mattel.

I can't wait to put the Hogan and Flair in the Steiner recliner. Someone else please ask Steve about the painted on biker trunks. Surely, there's enough time to point how bad and cheap those kind of legs look. No reason not to her molded biker trunks.

I like my New Gen Entrance. Not saying it's bad but compared to this thing it's not doubt in my mind what wins. And what happens if we don't get this stage and 6 months later they release a wcw real scale ultimate ring and we have no stage to complete it ever.

The stage is incredible, and I will buy all of the Hogans and Warriors they can come up with. As someone who watched during this era, this version of DDP is much more iconic than jeans, IMO.
I donât know how they could have done any better with the figures without having Sting or Goldberg available.

Looks like theyâre doing this chronologically. First entrance encompasses the end of the Golden Age and most of New Gen. They gave us the RAW letters to cover the tail end of New Gen and birth of AE. Now weâre getting Nitro and they already teased Raw is War. So after that, do they do SD Oval stage or skip that and go right into RA with the đ¤? No way would they ever do new stupid logo WCW stage.

Initially I wasn't going to back it simply because I couldn't justify it, but now I'm going back and forth on doing so. Maybe I'll wait and see how the funding is going before making the final decision

Maybe I'll wait and see how the funding is going before making the final decision Iâve said this before but if youâre on the fence it costs you nothing to get in early to help unlock Hogan. Then if you see that enough tiers arenât going to be unlocked to your liking then you can cancel. Nothing is charged until the campaign ends. One caveat to that would be using a debit card. The initial authorization may put a temporary hold on your funds. So that may be something to consider. But if youâre using a credit card, thereâs no risk.

I donât know how they could have done any better with the figures without having Sting or Goldberg available. I think they should have gone with a different Hogan, personally... there's already been 2 yellow trunks UE Hogans, so if you wanted one it's odds on you already have one. If they wanted Hogan in there, why not make it a new Hollywood Hogan? He's only had that one UE - and you could easily make him with the tan this time, plus different tights and shirt. And I'd have changed Rey to someone like Eric Bischoff (who's only ever had a RA Elite) and maybe re-use the announce table from the UE Macho too. Something like: - Hollywood Hogan (new tights/shirt, tan) - Eric Bischoff (with announce table/set-up) - DDP (classic jeans look) - Scott Steiner - Warrior I'm not saying the above is perfect by any means (...I'd change the Warrior figure too, lol), but it certainly would have made me more interested.

Will there be a number counter on the page telling you how many backers it has?

I would have 100% gone in on this if it was cheaper, smaller, and possibly included some kind of nitro ring skirt & canvas stretch goal. it looks amazing but $400 is just too expensive, 40" is way too huge to fit anywhere, and the ultimate fig selection isn't super exciting aside from Steiner. this is something i really wanted badly but this feels like a miss in almost every way aside from the look. tbh if it was around $200 and 20" wide id be definitely ordering.
