So I am curious as to how close it would need to be for Ringside to order a batch to sell down the line. I certainly wouldn't expect them to order a thousand of these if it gets to 4,000 backers, but maybe if we get to 4,500? Thoughts? .....why would Ringside buy something to sell (likely at a higher price to make profit otherwise why would they do this) when people already aren't backing it at its lowest price we'll ever see it for? In fairness they would likely divide up the stuff. More people would be willing to spend $150 for Steiner than $400 for the whole lot. Even then without all 5 figs rsc would struggle to break even

The next 2 weeks after this week will be very interesting... my fingers are crossed and hope for the best at this point. I will not give up hope though it may seem like a very steep hill to climb stranger things have happened. After all it is a wrestling hobby where the most unpredictable things can occur. the 2 weeks after it ends (if it fails) will be interesting too Yeah that too if does come down to that it will be a huge bummer to me, but I got to learn to accept things the way it is. Still got to BOlieve!

Personally I'd scrap the tiers and include all the figures as long as 5000 people back, the backing is now at a snails pace, to get this made.

Listen people are just waiting till the final day to back because they are waiting for their tax returns and spent all their money on Mattel stocks because they are so rich.

I'm pretty sure that the New Gen arena hovered like 35%-42% for WEEKS and then pumped all of the tiers on the final day for Macho Man.
Objectively, there was a lot of hype and love for New Gen Macho Man and just not that same sort of buzz about this set's early bird Hogan at all. Not a knock but the interest in either figure is not comparible to the other at all.
I say that just to say that while there wasn't a mega push on the last day to unlock Hogan, that mega day could still be the final day or two before the project deadline because most of the hype is about everything else in the Nitro set.
I think adding Scott and improving the figure's attire was a really solid move. Adding one figure to the $400 base price isn't going to get everyone on board but I'm sure it got a few people's attention and maybe put them back on the fence about backing.
At this point I will be pretty surprised to see this not get made.
I think the international buyer issue will hold back the unlockable tiers but I would love to at least get DDP added.

What do you guys think will be Steve and Mattel's next move? Will they change this thing up again or just let it ride out (aka, let it die)?

I guess they could add a few days, even a week or two, to the deadline if its a bit shy of 5K. But Steve has been very clear that the order minimum and what's included in the set will not change. It needs 5K backers and that's just to get the stage, Rey and Scott. Period. I think the small moves that Mattel were able to make made some positive momentum.

I am assuming their next move is to promote it on podcasts, YouTube, and social media. That’s all that’s left. There won’t be any more changes to the offerings.

Damn I wish I could find the IG post I saw the other day because I saw someone post a screenshot of the New Gen while it was going on, and it was at like 40% very close up to the last day of Macho Man! I guess it wasn't the morning of, though.

So in just under 2 days there were 5511 backers. We are officially half way to 5,000!!

I also think saying it got 5511 doesn't take in to account that after it hit the 5k it was a lock to be made which encouraged 3k+ extra backers to jump in. Once it's a preorder and not a crowdfund the dynamic changes drastically.

Also new gen you got entrance ring and figures, a self contained world. This people need to stump up $400 + whatever the ring costs to complete the set

That’s the thing cos people keep bringing up new gen but people will take a punt, go in because of fomo etc a lot easier on $200 v $400 I said it earlier in the thread, the difference between the and this New Gen is that the cost of entry was significantly lower, so the average collector could comfortably afford getting 1 and the big spenders could buy multiple for down the road. With this the average collector is gun shy on pulling the trigger because of the cost/value and big spenders are backing 1.

New Gen price was better but it wasn’t really a package people were sold on. It had a lot of factors working against it. - Not everyone wanted another ring. We weren’t that far removed from the Raw and SD Main Event rings or WCT ASRs that a lot of us already had in our collection. Finding a spot for another ring felt more of a hindrance.
- Nostalgia just wasn’t there. New Gen was a really low point for WWF where a lot of people from the Golden Age started checking out
- Diesel was very underwhelming
- Tiers were kinda underwhelming as well. Doink was toyetic but not really a must have and skirts were kind of a “cool if we get it but not gonna be upset if we don’t” item
- The WW block logo is a big eyesore for many and with it being so prominent on the entrance and the ring it was impossible to ignore
- Nothing about the whole set prior to Macho being added felt like a must have

I work with a few not for profits and their donations are dramatically down. Food prices, gas and everything has gone up substantially. The spendable income is simply down so it is a much different time and gage from even last year. No way to anticipate that. I've ordered my WCW Nitro Entrance and hope it works for Mattel and all who want it but the financial times are no doubt a major factor for a larger price point item. Hope it works.
