well it ends at 11:59pm pacific so that’s 2:59am est which is technically 5/6 Oh Well, it’s a shame this didn’t make it. Putting the issues with the actual production aside, it’s a really nice looking stage and now it’s not getting made and probably nothing else will either. They’re not gonna bother with the Raw stage now. Don't write it off just yet - there's still another day left. Stranger things have happened...

This would have been a fantastic value with 5 figures unlocked. If it geta funded with just 2 it’ll be a little overpriced but still a very nice set. Won’t cancel my order I think. Paid more money for worse in my life. 🤣

Paid more money for worse in my life. 🤣 ...think how we feel ($642)... 😪 If this were more reasonable for us here in the UK, I'd be backing it - as it is though, I'll just have to search the Bay of Evil for Steiner and (hopefully) DDP. I'll probably end up trading my New Gen set Macho.

I was expecting to wake up to a higher number of backers overnight
Kinda sad. I hope it this doesn’t succeed they look at their failures and address them before launching a future fund.
As a WCW Revenge mark I’d have loved the stage on my shelf. It isn’t Steve/Bill’s fault that MC changed up the way the site works to overcharge on international pricing so my heart goes out to then. But even if that was fixed the offering was still a mixed bag. At a $400 price point the fig selection needed to be more special feeling, and the early bird was a massive misstep.
I hope the Warrior and Steiner can find new life as elites. The other figs have already been done as elites (and Hogan as an ultimate) which kind of underscores the issue with them.

Got my fingers crossed for all those that have backed this set,
It really is a beautiful piece
I hope there is enough FOMO in those on the fence of buy/not buy to get it over the line

After seeing what the things with the New Gen set go for (a lot cheaper than expected), then I’ll probably wait to see what I can get the stage for, as that’s my main want. Then see how much Steiner and DDP are, I’ve an unopened Macho from New Gen set which I was going to sell, but trading it sounds like a good idea. I do think those 3 things on their own I could pick up cheaper than what they’d cost through MC….as long as it gets backed!

I still think we’re gonna get it across the finish line. The New Generation Arena and Macho went from 2,500 to just over 8,000 in the final 24 hours. This thing is already sitting at just under 3,400 as I on the west coast in pacific time haven’t even gone to bed yet. Similar movement could have us getting it, getting to DDP, and even possibly approaching Ultimate Warrior.

It only gained 500ish more backers after Macho ended.

Day One Backer.
I bowed out of the constant commenting, nonsense suggestions, bickering, and blaming when WFIGS members started attacking Steve, who came to this forum looking for solutions, only to be attacked. I figured it's out of my hands, I did my part, and no words from me are going to get this thing to 5000 backers (or 7000, or 9000). It certainly has been interesting to quietly read (and often cringe) at some of the content of this thread.
Mattel laid out the criteria for this offer - a very detailed replica of a Monday Night Wars ICON, with some bonus figures representing the era added - either you wanted it or you didn't.
As we are now on the last day of this and it looks grim (but not hopeless) - I wish everyone luck who is hoping to buy this very cool product and did their part to back it!
I will say I am humbly surprised that there doesn't seem to be 5000 fans left who are willing (and able) to buy this. 5000 is really a small number in the grand scheme of collecting.... A figure that's 1/5000 is typically considered Limited Edition and a sought-after collector's item. I routinely see folks dropping $100+ on one single figure (something I almost never do, really can't afford that). I am truly surprised that more people haven't backed this (yet) and I do hope we see a significant surge in the final hours.
I was a huge fan of WCW Nitro and I'd love to have this stage in my collection. If it doesn't make it, that's okay, I certainly have other things to spend the money on. I'm a single-dad on a tight budget. I dusted off my credit card, and will cover part of it with some money that I had from my wrestling photography, the rest I'll pay off the credit card when I can.
If it doesn't get funded, though, I do feel that many people will regret their decision not to back it, as we won't see this again - probably ever. It'll live on in legend as the "white whale" for collectors! The awesome thing that we almost had....
As the great Tony Schiavone said many times..... "FANS.... WE'RE OUTTA TIME!"

But by making Macho Man only available to the backers by that date, it essentially made the Macho Man deadline the unofficial deadline because why back and get less stuff? It made everyone make their decision two weeks early then, and it’s why the early bird Hogan this time around didn’t move things much, because if they hit the Hogan deadline, he was going to be available to everyone regardless of if you backed the first day or the last day. There would have been more incentive if they had made Hogan only for the people that ordered in that first week but we will never know how many it would have sold in that scenario.

I wonder if Mattel had produced 9k of these, ready to go, with the first 4 figs, sold at $400, how quickly they would have sold through? Would be interesting to see in an alternate timeline if people would be complaining that they were so limited and that they didn’t get one (like SDCC exclusives and so on)

There’s a lot more things working against this one The price International customers Current cost of living The product itself It not being the first crowdfund I want it to get funded, but alot is going against it

The New Gen jumped the final day of *Macho Man* not the final day of the project. It only gained 500ish more backers after Macho ended. Launching this project with the "Early Bird" already announced nullified being able to really give it a boost when things stalled out. Something to perceivably add value or sweeten the pot which gave the New Generation set essentially two separate deadlines with that first one really laying on the FOMO thick because people knew the "Macho Man" window would be closing. I also do believe that the Hogan figure announced for this set was not the best choice since there is already a similar version available. Yes, Savage already had another UE available, but at least he was given a signature attire from his final televised match in the WWF which made it feel pretty special. Would like to think regardless of those factors that this thing sees some kind of last-minute surge today. Just not sure if it will be enough to get it over the hump, but have to remain optimistic.
