I have a gut feeling something will be announced today that'll get those numbers up and the project backed. ... but I could be wrong. Mattel is not gonna let this fail. If it doesn’t look good by lunch time today I see them adding Hogan to the 5k. The figure is basically a rerelease with a couple of new tweaks. It won’t cost very much to add it on Mattel’s part. Companies let these fail. Hasbro and the Rancor are proof of this no? Correct me if I'm wrong. It Hasbro didn't change anything on the last day to save it? |

They’re gonna unlock all the tiers, throw in Bischoff and the ring, and drop the price to $250, I just know it. This is too big to fail. Heads will roll at Mattel if this doesn’t move forward so they’re gonna do whatever it takes to make it succeed.

I bet that by lunch we’ll have a completely new figure lineup with Sting being the main guy and they will throw in the Raw Is War stage and drop the price to a reasonable $125. Just hold out.

This is really rough! Roller Coaster ride. From a toy company perspective I get this model of letting the people decide. I purchased Brusier Brody, Stan Hansen from Powertown and Super7 Star Trek Figures way iin advance. I guess if they don't have the numbers they want before production they could cancel ... look at all of the preorders we do with Walmart only to discover they get canceled long after the fact. I appreciate Mattel's transparency ... but I can't help to wonder in an alternative universe if they said ... "we will give you 30 days to buy this set and all 5 figures ... that this thing would blast out to well over 11,000 sales .... which is the end game. If it doesn't reach 11,000 they write us and say ... sorry we did not get enough to produce but we thank you for your interest." We would get ticked but it wouldn't be this long dramatic ups and downs for a month ... Asking people to sell their children so I can get my WCW set.  What an incredible set piece from one of my favorite times in wrestling history with lights! WOW!! For the love of GOD - start buying!! |

I think the point of crowdfunds is a willingness to let them fail. If they were determined to not let it fail, it'd just be a normal release like the Raw ring. |

Just backed a second one (I'm international but have a US address I can use).
As discussed ad nauseam, there's work to be done to help international buyers out in future, though the actual cost breakdown does only show a $30-40 upcharge (the rest is easily attributable). The key is probably to just let international buyers choose whether they want customs + taxes pre-paid or not.
Hoping this gets over the line!

Weird priorities. While I don't disagree with that sentiment I will say that if it fails Mattel can learn from it and maybe market/position the next one better. That would be the only silver lining and reason for celebration (although "celebration isn't the right word but you know what I mean) if it fails. |
