I understand not liking the price or not feeling like it’s worth it to you but I really don’t get the celebration of this possibly failing and finding humor in thousands of disappointed collectors. Weird priorities. While I don't disagree with that sentiment I will say that if it fails Mattel can learn from it and maybe market/position the next one better. That would be the only silver lining and reason for celebration (although "celebration isn't the right word but you know what I mean) if it fails. The problem is...things cost a certain amount to manufacture. Many people are simply DELUSIONAL when it comes to what kind of room Mattel has to change or add things to projects like this.

Weird priorities. Please show me where people are celebrating? I've yet to see anyone "celebrating" it possibly failing especially when the race isn't over. Also why is this such a serious topic that shouldn't be made light of? Have you read your post history in this thread?

Weird priorities. I agree, some people are definetely giving a smug "i told you so" kindof attitude whenever the progress is slow, acting like they know everything and they're projecting some sense of satisfaction and superiority over Mattel's decisionmaking, like they couldve done a better job and it's obvious what one simple change would have skyrocketed this to the goal. Nobody knows what's gonna happen and Mattel knows what they're doing way more than anyone outside the company could.

Also why is this such a serious topic that shouldn't be made light of? Have you read your post history in this thread? I've not celebrated this failing once. I've said I don't think it'll get funded and given my opinions but never once said I hope it fails or it will absolutely fail. This failing is net negative on wrestling figure collecting, the fandom would be better off if it gets funded. However, I'm not gonna be delusionally optimistic and declare victory or defeat before Bertha Fae sings. Will I poke fun at people who do tho? Absolutely. Just as I expect to happen to me if it succeeds which I hope happens.

Can they legally extend the deadline if they are close to hitting? No. Steve and Bill will get arrested for sure if it goes a second past midnight Pacific tonight.

WWE fanboys hating on WCW merch don't seem to realize this failing means they won't get their Raw stage, Hell In A Cell, or Cage sets. Plus we'll probably see less WCW figures, when we're already struggling to dig deeper than the usual A-listers over and over again, or "WWE guys" in their WCW gear. The suits at the top don't see specifics. They see big ticket wrestling items don't sell.

Nobody knows what's gonna happen and Mattel knows what they're doing way more than anyone outside the company could. Completely agree. It's as if there's a secret vault of information that they have access to, viewable only to people who like wrestling toys more than the others. The latest one is "all the marketing this week is too late, they should extend the deadline", which is hilarious and conveniently ignores the years of data that support urgency marketing. They've intentionally and correctly saved those things for this week, because it's closer to the time people need to take action - if they'd done all this 3 weeks ago, people it reached would still wait and see what happens nearer the deadline. So, it's common sense to do it whilst there's less time to take part.

there just isnt enough interest for this i guess. i still think they made a mistake at 5k backers. rather it was expecting 5k to back it, or not adding 3 figures to the initial fund at 5k... we shall never know why it hit a brick wall ... still far from over, but again hopefully we Stiener and DDP down the road.

We know why it hit a brick wall. The momentum died half an hour into day one because of two key issues: -international customers were being overcharged. The item went up at £470 the day before launch. Which was still far too much, but it suddenly jumped to £500 that day. No explanation was given. They were not transparent about why we were paying more than $220 more than American customers (excluding our shipping costs). -the Hogan early bird was verifiably a dud. Both the figure and the execution. The early bird was supposed to drive people to back early, but it didn’t My opinion is individually these things may have been able to be overcome. But together they killed it. Had they launched this with a 10 day order window for Steiner as an early bird. So anyone who ordered after that time DIDN’T get him. And had they charged international buyers the same as Americans, and let us pay our customs and duty NEXT YEAR when we received our items, I think this would have hit 7k at least. Mismanaged from top to bottom. And if people make excuses or lay the blame on fans then mattel can never learn from this.

I used to think "smart" wrestling fans were the dumbest people on the Internet. This thread has shown me they're just the second dumbest
