Think 100% the move is to reveal a few WCW Ultimates and even Elites to make people want the stage even more. Outsiders, soli Rick Steiner, maybe a Bischoff and a Hollywood Hogan. They obviously have something up their sleeve to increase interest.

If they're too proud to offer an extra figure now that they've said no, then ring skirts, baby! Ring skirts to create a classic WCW ring with World Championship Wrestling on the side and a canvas with the original crosshairs thing would be pretty cool. White ropes, yellow ropes, whatever.

I think people are overthinking the numbers a little as far as whether this winds up getting funded, which I still think it does. This Friday and next Friday, when people have paydays, will do a lot of determining IMO.

I really think it was a mistake to include Hogan so early/straight off the bat... let the set get some backers and interest - and THEN add Hogan as an early-bird special to add momentum. I know it's all the same in the long run - but by adding Hogan later, it gives the impression you're getting something extra you weren't before as well.
Also - I'd have included Steiner instead of Rey as the "for sure" figure... how much more appealing would the set be with a guaranteed UE Steiner figure? I know people will say you need figures like him to get to the tiers... but surely it's better to make sure the set actually gets made first(?).

Big Bubba Rogers wrestled Hogan at the first Nitro in the mall. Dean Malenko in white or blue or Eddy Guerrero in WCW heel gear for Rey. Face Total Package Lex Luger next to DDP about to take on the Outsiders, Heel Rick Steiner to pair with brother Scott and the Disciple to pair with this version of Ultimate Warrior. Something like that would get people pretty amped. Like I said earlier, I think they need to sell people on the possibilities and the potential that a set like this has beyond the scope of what we're getting now. |

The value is there but it's wrapped up in chance. The likelihood of 5k backers in 9 days, at this price point, is quite low. Which means it becomes $400 for the arena and Rey, whilst fingers stay crossed for DDP. The value argument falls short for me as can only be deemed good value if you have reasonable control over what you actually receive. People can cancel their order at any time before the backing period closes. So there's literally zero risk in backing early. That said, the item is the stage itself. I think people are putting way too much emphasis on the figures. Nobody bought Galactus for the Silver Surfer fig or the HISS tank for Cobra Commander. The figures are meant to be a value add, not the central focus of the project. That might be true for some people but I'm not paying $800 for a stage that's awesome and figures I hate. |

If only Nitro debut Lex was the first figure, it would have been backed already...  Backed up and dumped out by a garbage truck maybe! I’ll give Steve $400 to never make an Ultimate Lex, which is more than that bums figure will make total! LOL. I'm not sure if you were kidding but I'm shocked that we still don't have a regular 90s Total Package Lex Luger. It is arguably one of the most popular incarnations of Luger ever. You literally have to buy the Bash at the Beach Luger and kitbash it with the recent one to get something close. |

Yeah but last year it was some random display that looked cool. Now you're looking at it through the lens of 'would I actually buy it'. I don't think many people here are appreciating just how fecking big this thing is. The sheer size alone will put tonnes of people off it, because they won't have anywhere to put it.
Having it on show digitally (ie; the advert for it repeating over and over with the QR code and such, and have figures or such on display) would be much more sensible, in my opinion. That way you get all the glamour of the TV ad without the realisation setting in that this thing needs a dining table to display it on.
People have to see how big it is and what it looks like you can’t just not show it |

That Hogan isnt good enough to be a purchase point for this. Its way too similar to the amazon release. But Hogan is Hogan and sells well regardless. Many people are burned out after all the red and yellow Hogan's we've gotten over the last few years and it doesn't have the same impact it would have a year ago. It also now makes the Legends version redundant |
