I really think the ‘doink factor’ is missing this time
I’m sure Steve said (although I could be mis remembering) when asked at the time if the crowd fund isn’t successful will doink still come out and he said no
You can see all these figures being released irrespective of the set. There’s no “it’s now it never” feeling.
Again I know the stage is supposed to be the main sale but people are still talking about the figures
Edit: found it. 25th July 21
some asked “If the crowdfunder doesn't work out, could we still see the Diesel & Doink released in the future?” and the answer was “highly unlikely” more pointed to doink I think as we would always be getting a nash / diesel ultimate.
Then Someone said “ I’m assuming Doink/Diesel have been sculpted. So if the crowdfunding doesn’t happen, why not down the road release these? The Doink is something I would love to have.”
Answer “ They’re sculpted but not tooled which is where the bulk of the expense is. I’d love to have them as I’m sure many would buy this crowd fund is how it’s gonna happen”
*the buy I think was a type-o by Steve and should say “but this crowd funder…”

Which is a bit of a bummer as it’s not in jeans, but I’m happy to get him regardless. That is, if that tier is unlocked.

I'm watching and cheering for this to be successful! i wanted it so badly but here in Canada the price reads $695 which is honestly heartbreaking. that's just not justifiable for a figure stage no matter how beautiful it is. (for reference that's more than a PS5 costs up here)

Just 2 backers away from hitting the 1k mark. Is this good within the first 24 hours of it going live? I think we may see a boost in the backers after Wrestlemania Weekend as a lot of people will have funds tied up in the events over the weekend! I am growing on this set despite the large cost for Intenrnational Customers. I'd prefer to pay for the item now to back it and pay the charges of Customs and Handling once it ships in a years time. £509/$617 is a lot of money to pay out and sit waiting for a year

At checkout there’s still shipping cost so we’re paying £509. I love Mattel and what they do for us, I’m a Ultimate Edition completist but I won’t be backing this for the mean time. I speak on behalf of most of the UK collectors here when I say we feel somewhat robbed. Let us pay the conversion rate which is £323 and we can worry about customs/tax whatever later on in a years time when we collect our packages.

Even though I am not in a million years a player on this thing, it is freaking amazing! I also love that Warrior figure! Hopefully it makes it all the way to the Warrior figure for those that are backing this thing.

They should let all international peeps pay the conversion rate - and give the shipping prices for standard and express to their country. That's it. Leave import fees/Customs out of it... that's how it worked with the first (New Gen) set. The way it is now is just a mess... I mean, there's no way the shipping will be £9 and £17 (so why include it?). I'd love someone at Mattel to break down the price so UK folk know exactly what they're paying for.

Vat and Customs Duty are included in the total cost, so nothing to pay on delivery. On the actual listing it states that a £60.00 shipping surcharge is included in the total cost plus £9.00 actual shipping. Although whether the ring etc is actually worth the total cost is debatable.

The first one was so good, I backed it twice because it came to roughly £200 each. For every person in the UK that backs this, Mattel receive $616. That $216 no way covers postage and tax. This needs to be explained.

Most crowdfunds see the biggest influx during the first and last few hours and this dropped off hard after the first 30 minutes. The momentum vanished because Mattel is scamming international buyers and at this point I’m not sure they could win tons of non-Americans over even if they fix the price gauging.

2 thoughts.
1. I think 20% is great less than 24 hours in. More than I would’ve expected tbh. 250 away from being a quarter there which is a good milestone.
2. That 20% is vs the 5k. DDP to a degree but more so Steiner seem to be the big wants from what’s available in the project. We’re 14% and 11% towards those respectively. As it gets closer to the deadline IF it doesn’t look like those will be unlocked will people start dropping out? I hope not for those who want them
If it gets to 25% (2,250) in the next few hours I’d say that’s a great chunk towards the goal and looking really good, just mentally seeing it a quarter there is a boost

I saw the Raw set at Mania last year and it was awesome and massive. The price isn’t bad if she end up with 5 figures as well if all tiers are unlocked. I’m in on this. No clue where I’m putting it but I know I’ll regret it if I don’t buy in. Kinda wish we were getting some deeper wcw talent instead of the 50th Rey and Hulk

For international people, would it be possible for American buyers to purchase your set and then ship it out to you? Or does it still give you those custom fees regardless? Just curious...

Now 1,024 - this is literally the most exciting thing in Wrestling at the moment…
I don’t collect Elites and/or Ultimates but I’m actually tempted it’s that good.
