Now it looks like the Kurt Angle elite might have the same thing. I blame every one of you begging for a cloth singlet. Those things look horrible and just because you have no taste doesn’t give you the right yo doom the rest of us. I have the Andre and Bundy with the cloth singlets. That’s the best those will ever get and they’re awful. The shape is wonky and the straps don’t stay in place. I’m sorry, I’m just… blaming you because you deserve it. I think the Andre singlet is great. It's skin tight and not bulky like the old Jakks ones. See the thing is, removable singlets allow you to pull the straps down when playing with figures. If a wrestler does it in real life then it's great to be able to do the same in figure form. I disagree completely. And any fabric singlet on a normal-sized wrestler will be incredibly difficult to sew correctly and the shorts will ride up because it’s made of a stretchy fabric. And those straps will slide right down.

To be fair, when Mattel first showed of the rubber top, a lot of us just assumed it would hold up to use and we didn’t foresee it’s short comings. I know I was one who said “this would be great for Angle” and there were others who asked for it on Perfect and Lawler.
And then Taker came out and we saw all of the flaws. I want to give Mattel the benefit of the doubt and see if they can tweak it so it works much better; but we won’t know until it’s in hand.
Could Mattel have tried this again with someone else? Sure. But this is the fourth Perfect they’ve put out in ring gear and I can understand the thought process of trying something different.
As for the cloth singlet on Kurt Angle: I’m willing to wait and see which attire it turns out to be and how clean the lines are on it. Worst case scenario, it’s a blurry mess that we have to just pose with the straps down and then we wait another year or so for the eventual bald Kurt in a molded singlet.

Worst case scenario, it’s a blurry mess that we have to just pose with the straps down and then we wait another year or so for the eventual bald Kurt in a molded singlet. Plastic and paint will always be superior to rubber or cloth when it comes to the base of a figure. The RSC Undertaker was bad because the top was too thick for the figure and it didn't look like a singlet worn under pants which is exactly what the real Undertaker's attire is. The figure looked like it was wearing a big piece of rubber slapped onto it because that's what it was. I honestly don't know why so many people think fabric wrestling attire will look good on a plastic 6" figure. It never will look good. Fabric that sits on a 6" figure does not respond the way fabric on a 6' human does. It's not made from the same material, it doesn't have enough weight to it, physics will affect it differently because of the size and material differential. It's like saying a dress on a Barbie looks as beautiful as a dress on a human. You know what will happen to a Kurt Angle figure wearing a cloth singlet? It will either look too bulky and baggy compared to every other figure without one, or the shorts on the singlet will pull right up into the crotch area and now you got yourself a Taz singlet.

I still don't know why people kept asking for a cloth singlet or removable top. Now, we got this terrible Mr.Perfect. Not only does he look proportionally odd, but it's got that stupid rubber gunk. This should of been a brand new mold from head to toe. Perfect was a thick dude. I'm hoping this could be corrected with a UE '97 Starrcade Perfect. I have a feeling that we're stuck with this mold for the next couple of Perfects.

Mr. Perfect was also very tan. He will still look pale next to Hogan's hot dog tan.

I don’t understand the need for pull down gear. I’d prefer they just release a separate release with sculpted pulled down straps.

UE Kurt Angle is what we wanted, not these sticky, rubber things Yup. However, there were a lot of people asking for cloth singlets and removable tops. I want sculpted singlets and trunks. The Angle I want is based off of the r3 Yes, but you have to understand, if a particular wrestler pulls down their straps in every match, people want the action figures to have that feature. When I was a kid I loved the TTL Angles with cloth singlets. They looked bulky but I didn't care because being able to pull down his straps was awesome. Mattel's cloth clothes have improved compared to 2010 so a modern Angle figure in cloth could look awesome.

Like someone else stated, at this scale a lot of the skin tight gear looks bad and over time starts to wear down. I prefer sculpted gear.

No offense to anyone, but do we really need figures with the shoulder strap pulled down, because they did it a few times during a match?
Are that many people really re-creating actual matches on their displays? Just seems like a really minute request to me.

I wonder if they embedded the bottom of the removable singlet into the torso (like that Toybiz Kurt Angle) instead of it being just a belly shirt like RSC Taker. I’m guessing the latter & they left the title to hide the ugliness. They give OG Taker a ridiculous tan but Mr. Perfect.. HE was white 😩 What Toybiz Kurt Angle? The only one that got released was TNA Toybiz series 8 and it was molded like a normal figure.

The singlet here looks great, and seems to feature the embedded idea others are mentioning. Still to this day, one of the best looking wrestling figures made. For a 2006/2007 figure, this still holds up today visually.

Mattel's cloth clothes have improved compared to 2010 so a modern Angle figure in cloth could look awesome. You’re speaking for yourself. I never wanted that stuff as a kid. I hated it because it looked bad. I could use my imagination to imagine things. I always hated action features and gimmicks as a kid. Cloth jackets is fine. But actual clothing? It looks terrible, never fits like real clothing due to the small scale, and nobody else in the line ever has fabric attire so it sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe it’s an OCD thing that triggers only me and I’m in the minority, but I would much rather not have full fabric attires. Even Rock’s fabric track suit, I would much rather have that attire sculpted in plastic. I actually would not mind fabric singlets on certain wrestlers if they were pumping out alternatives as often as Hogan, Reigns, or Cena. But they aren’t. So it annoys me that a slot is being used on a gimmick. Mr Perfect has 3 elites in all 13 years of Mattel WWE. Only one of them is a singlet in his iconic design and that was in a 4-pack released almost a decade ago. Kurt Angle only had 2 elites made with hair and only one of them was in wrestling gear. That’s my major gripe. They’re going to release Perfect and Angle in two attires I want, but with crappy tops. That sucks.

I knew it wouldn’t, every one of my Cena armbands from the pre-Ultimate Edition era of this line has dried up and ripped

It looks like a fruit rollup stuck to a figure.

I've seen customisers use balloons to make Mr Perfect singlets and I just smh when I see that. It'll perish in a few years and go sticky and ruin the plastic and paintwork.
These singlets from Mattel don't look far off that imo.
