It’s SDCC week. A lot of toys are being revealed today, tomorrow and the rest of the week. ZST didn’t throw this figure together over night, this is something that’s been in the works for a while. So I’m pretty sure it has 0 to do with Mattel or their rights to Macho Man.

Bold Prediction: They canceled because the production cost is too high and will sell it instead on Mattel Creations at a higher price point. Funny you say that, I was just thinking about that earlier today lol. |

Off of what they showed at Axxess that looked like it was going to be one of the most decked-out mainline Ultimates we've ever gotten. Another thing about this particular Macho Man, I do believe I've heard Bill say in videos that the WM7 Macho Man is one of his all-time favorite figures/looks. Of all the figures I could believe Mattel would hold back if it wasn't 100% right, I could see it being this Macho Man. That could be blind optimism, but the logic kinda tracks. |

Another reason they could have canceled the figure is that they realized, “Oh crap, this is Macho King NOT Macho Man!”

If it was production cost then slap in a UE Drew McIntyre you got the parts we are owed a 2nd in the UE 18 line other wise it was just Exclusive Randy Orton black on black attire. He'll throw in riddle so usos have someone to fued with.

In fairness, that figure does look expensive to make. I could see that it got too pricy for the $32.99 mainline and maybe they're going to repurpose it elsewhere for more $$$, or maybe they'll take a chance to find ways to make this figure cheaper and put it in the mainline. I didn't realize it had a cloth shirt underneath. Seems minuscule but stuff adds up quick, especially when you already have a deluxe jacket, hat, pretty tedious paint apps and multiple heads and hands. Just speculating like the rest of us right now. The budget for Macho is clearly large which would explain why he was paired with Orton who is very plain, Basic and low cost. Didn’t Steve also say it was coming with a new unique head mold with the post match “sweaty/hair across the forehead” look? Couple that with the hat, glasses, shirt and jacket and that was a pretty generous figure. |

But... he's really going hard on the fact he's got the designer of the gear to consult with him. So has zombie got in this guys ear to tell him to kick up a stink with WWE for using his designs on a figure WITHOUT his consent or royalties. This could open up a huge can of worms...

Legit Question:
Who would control the Poffo estate?
Angelo & his wife are both gone..... Randy "Poffo" Savage didn't have any children.... so Lanny "Genius" Poffo inherited the Savage estate.....
According to Wikipedia - Lanny had one daughter - Meghan. So I'd assume (and possibly wrongly assume) that Meghan Poffo would now be controlling the Macho Man estate?
How does this stuff work?

I know there was a lawsuit recently involving Orton’s tattoo artist and WWE using their original work in video games and figures without their permission. But I think if there was some issue with WWE using his designs that it would have come out long ago in the last 30 years surely? |
