All the other sets sold out in one day. This one has been on sale 10 days 🤷. Think they made 10 times as many Ali? Lol ...that's Steiner math, lol. They could have made, say 5K of the others... and 10K of this one. Just because the others sold out in one day at 5K, doesn't mean they'd have sold out at 10K. But still...All the others sold out in one day, this one hasn't at 10 days. Call it whatever math you like, it's still true 🤷

I came on to say along the same lines. I think each side of the argument is right; Mattel likely made more units of this set so as to not sell out quickly (a la the last 3 SDCCs), but also the demand for Ali wasn't as high. Even Chuckles on the 'bro side took awhile to sell out. It’s pretty obvious that they didn’t make anymore sets than normal for a SDCC fig because if they could make more we would have already had rereleases of Slim Jim, Sgt Slasher and No holds barred. It’s 2023 and Mattel doesn’t care about collectors that enjoy the value of rare figs. It’s just a lame fig this year that nobody wanted or asked for. Hopefully you are not a lawyer as that is about the poorest rebuttal and thought process that I have read on here (and that is saying quite a lot). Have a good one, bud.

What exactly constitutes a failure? Has it performed poorer than the more recent ones? Sure, but is something not selling out in a week really a failure? We don’t know their production numbers or how many have sold thus far. For all we know they’re already in the black with this fig and what’s currently unsold is inconsequential to their bottom line. You and Stevehulk need to quit making sense and just focus on pure negativity.

I don’t think anybody is really arguing that they sold less units of this than the others as nobody knows the production numbers of any of them.. just pointing out that it’s still available - Meaning the supply was much greater than the demand. I think many view that as a ‘failure’ considering most desired sdcc exclusives sell out quickly (minutes or hours) and I’m assuming that’s usually their goal with these (I think Steve even mentioned this with Sgt Slaughter, but could be mistaken).

SDCC must have a deal in place with Mattel to only make a certain number of figs for their yearly exclusive. All we have seen over the last 2 years is Mattel rereleasing anything and everything that goes for big bucks on the bay. Slim Jim, Slaughter & NHB all sell for way more than they originally did. If Mattel could rerelease those figs they would in a heartbeat but SDCC must not allow it. There are figs that are RSC “Exclusives” from years ago that are getting rereleased…..So the precedent is there. If they could make more SDCC they would have done it already. Look at last years No Holds Barred set. It sold out in 1 minute. Why wouldn’t Mattel take orders after the original were sold out and tell ppl since we already have the molds and everything done you guys can order one and we will make more and ship them too you in 8 months or however long it took to produce more?

Yeah that’s not how it works. There’s no restrictions that a convention can place on a toymakers for how many figures they can produce or how it’s distributed. Mattel has re-released SDCC Undertaker as a DM with some slight differences. As far as the most recent ones they could potentially be re-released with different packaging or slight alterations with the exception of Slim Jim Macho due to licensing reasons with SJ and MM. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did Rip or Slaughter way down the road but there’s probably other figures higher on their priority list than doing those figs again.

How delusional people are here... If something fails then they try to shadow the failure of mattel by saying the thing was produced in higher number 😆 so you think Mattel couldn't have been listening to complaints from previous comic con exclusives and actually wanted everyone to get a fair chance at getting one, no it must be because no ones interested in someone that transcends the wrestling world and one of the most well known people of all time LOl if they really listen to people then we would have gotten that hogans updated belt 😆

They could of released boxer Ali in the Legends line. I'm willing to bet this will still happen. If they're putting out an Ali Ultimate and Retro, then that Elite will come soon enough.

I don't care for this Ali figure, but it's interesting that people are complaining about it still being available. If it were sold out we'd be hearing the same ol nonsense about how it's not fair that people scalped these, that there should of been more quantities available etc. I think us collectors are an interesting bunch. I'm just happy that it's not sold out, but still available, but still an exclusive for people who want it. Ahh, what a long sentence or run on sentence, oh well...

You couldn't make it up 🤦♂️.
