Defintiely sounds like it could be Ali, a lot of people hated him for evading the draft and his brash persona rubbed a lot of people the wrong way as well. With that said I would guess it's Ali from WM1.

The key words here are CROSSOVER APPEAL. Crossover: Does he/she have a brand outside of WWE? A “second act”? Tied to something that creates almost a second fan segment to touch? (Bad Bunny, Tyson, Slaughter) Appeal: In this “second act”, are they likable? YES: Bad Bunny, Slaughter, Mr. T MAYBE / NO: Pete Rose, Trump, Jesse, Tyson, Kauffman Ultimately, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for Mattel to ride out an option that has any layer of controversy around it. Too many other safer routes that don’t lead to the headaches and commentary that comes with a possible risky decision. ***And I know it’s not Bad Bunny based on the clues. (Unless he did something to upset Kyle’s grandfather when he was only an infant) The thing with Sgt Slaughter, is we just got the two Ultimate's. So what do they do that's somewhat different. GI Joe inspired? Yes I suppose, but surely Mattel will be looking elsewhere and seeing that at the moment there's a few Slaughters just been released by different company's from his GI Joe stint. The only thing I could think of is a two pack with Colonel Mustafa but they literally did those a couple years ago in the Elite line in that gimmick so would it make sense to do it again. Probably not. A Hogan/Slaughter two pack, I could see that but do we need another Hogan? |

I’d guess Rose, but we basically already have that Kane, so that wouldn’t be great. I could see it being Ali….and Monsoon? I don’t see Inoki, but maybe. I don’t know who he’d go with from Wrestlemania 1 as a ref unless we somehow got Snuka in cloth goods with wrestling attire underneath (which would be f#cking amazing). Piper is about to be released in CC, and I could see Orton and Orndorff in CC shortly as well (possibly in the same wave), so I don’t see either of them being the guy here, and there’s no reason for a Wrestlemania 1 Hogan re-release as an exclusive. Also, a ref figure seems like a waste of Ali. Other than those two I really don’t know, and even those two I don’t know who they’d go with besides the obvious (already released) choices. Trump? Billy Martin? Steinbrenner? Ozzy? G. Gordon Liddy? Lawrence Taylor? That Bill Clinton impersonator from Wrestlemania 10? Actually LT would work since we don’t have Bigelow in that attire. I don’t even think that attire has ever been released in wrestling figure form come to think of it. LT has a r*pe of a minor conviction. They aren’t going to make a figure of him, nor should they. Ok...based on Kyle's comments.... Ali was drafted to go to Vietnam in 1966, that's 57 years ago, which would make his grandfather 39. His grandfather would have been around 18 at the end of WWII. His grandfather would have been PRIME age to witness Ali in his prime and dislike him for refusing to go the Vietnam. So here me out... Ultimate Edition Muhammad Ali - soft goods referee gear - molded boxing trunks underneath. Everlast, white with black waist and side stripes - alternate hands: boxing gloves red, tape wrapped fists of fury, counting 2 and 3 - alternate heads: Younger yelling Ali, normal younger Ali - alternate white boxing shoes - Soft Goods boxing robe with white Everlast with "Muhammad Ali" in red on the back The white/black trunks with red gloves would be the look in the iconic photo from Ali vs Liston 2... Also, that fight was the FIRST time I believe that he wore a robe with Muhammad Ali on it Kyle here. I’ll give a better clue my grandpa is 96. My grandpa knows nothing of wrestling and men like him hated this guy for a controversial reason at the time. If this figure is not San Diego, con, it will be interesting to see what else it would possibly be for. This will have crossover appeal no doubt about it.
