Wow, quite the change in direction for this line. Whatever it takes to keep this line going strong! I’m still hoping for at least one WWF/LJN era talent per wave, but if the 2 old school this time are Rock n Roll Express, as I’m guessing, I’ll be sitting out for the first time since Cardona/Myers Wave 1.

Didn’t see Ethan Page coming but it’s an okay choice for a modern guy. He has a good following and seemed to bust his ass before he was signed to AEW. Hopefully his departure invigorates him. He is always fun live in a way that never was properly showcased in AEW.
Cabana would be a cool choice for the other modern guy. Although I never stopped following wrestling, Colt is who really got me deep into it after becoming a more casual fan. Back in 2010 I was headed on an 18 hour road trip to visit family for Christmas when I get a phone call notifying me that my father had passed. I’ll never forget listening to AOW during that long drive to help keep my mind in a better place. Colt Cabana will always have a place in my heart for that. Even if it doesn’t end up being him, I love seeing all the other figures he is getting and am hoping he gets even more.

Let me get ahead of this as I’ve seen a lot of comments other places…
We want the line to grow and thrive. To make the deep LJN era cuts, we need to be financially secure. This IS a business.
Making current talent that will sell thousands will allow us to make the certain LJN era guys/girls that will only sell hundreds.
We appreciate your support of the line. Collect and buy who you want. Nobody needs to buy them all. (But I’d certainly appreciate it if you did! Haha!)

It’s true to the LJN style in that they would make figures what were hard to play with/only good for a single pose (like Rick Rude). As a kid, I never liked Hasbros that felt like they really limited play (for example: Ric Flair, Jumpers, Bearhug Hogan). Even now, that Hiromu Takahashi retro figure is one of my least favorite just because his inability to do much from a posing standpoint or for figure photography (which is modern-day play). Though I wasn’t an LJN kid, I did own and play with WCW OSFTMs. I loved the way Macho and Entrance Gear Sting looked but they were some of my least favorite to play with. Sometimes it’s okay to feel two ways about something. Ethan will look great on a shelf (especially in package). If anyone plans to pose him or do figure photography, it isn’t an ideal pose. Those last two are probably a small minority of customers so in a lot of ways having Ethan do his signature pose seems like a better decision than a generic pose. |
