Two amazing promotions that entertained many in the 90s... who you going with?
I’m picking WCW but I still loved ECW... it would have been cool to see both companies live on tbh. I really loved WCW in the early 90s but it was the best for me from around 96-99.
I started enjoying WCW again towards the end & many of us hoped for em to come back strong... I always found ECW underrated as well.

WCW from 96 to 98. ECW any other year.

Being a Philly native I loved ECW especially from 95-8 but I'm still going with WCW
92-94(before the Pukester came in) was some amazing stuff

Guess this will just come down to what someone's preference is. WCW had good in ring wrestling but never really had the edge ECW brought to the table.
I'll go with WCW though.

I enjoyed WCW a lot from 1991-1998 but only watched ECW from 1997-2001, so I got to go with WCW. Without them, I might have lost interest in wrestling after Summerslam 1991.

WCW. Even though ECW was in Philadelphia here in NJ/NY area it aired at 2 or 3 in the morning and I had to be at work by 7 the following morning. Plus it aired like a late night infomercial and I hate that format. So WCW is an easy answer for me.

I lost interest in both in 99. Not to say they each didnt have something I liked but it was easy to see both were on the downward trend

ECW had more of an allure for me, the first ECW shows that I saw were on a bootleg VHS that a friend of my dads got me, it was Double Tables. I had read about it in Power Slam magazine, but this was the first time I ever saw ECW and for a few years I would get random tapes and loved them.
Still, I have to give this one to WCW. Here in the UK in the early 90s it aired on regular TV and the WCW Galoob action figures were very easy to find. However, it is becasue of 1998 I am giving this to WCW, that was the peak of my fandom for WCW, the run up to Haloween Havoc that year was huge for me and the most I was ever into WCW. I think had I been able to watch ECW at its peak on a weekly basis, I probably would have picked that, but as all I saw until it started airing on Bravo TV here in the UK was random shows I never got fully attached to it.

WCW. I had no access really to ECW until it was nearly done...only seen it very sporadically. WCW from 1996 to early 99 was usually great stuff.

I have never watched a single episode of either LIVE as I was a WWE kid, but from what I've seen I think I know myself enough to say that ECW was probably the product that was more geared towards me. However I think WCW had the star-power. Besides the Dudleys, Sabu, Raven, RVD and New Jack I can't really name an ECW original that I cared about. Sure people like Guerrero, Benoit, Mysterio, Juventud and many others had a stint there but they would go on to much bigger heights and find more success in either WCW or WWF/WWE later down the road.
Hard question tbh. WCW had the names I would have changed the channel for and the cruiserweights that I would have loved to watch in real time as a kid but the violence and sheer insanity of ECW probably would have had me hooked on that product. I say ECW but I really need to find time to watch the essential years and storylines from both promotions golden years to truly understand what I'm talking about.

Yep I remember both companies being big in the UK back then… everyone in primary school, secondary, college uni work etc literally everyone loved wrestling in the UK!! It’s great seeing WWE/AEW host big events over here with MITB/ALL IN/Clash at the Castle

I do enjoy some ECW but I’m not a big fan of hardcore violence

WCW. But I did enjoy the original ECW. The new ECW was underrated tbh I really enjoyed it as well. 2006 was one of my favorite years in wrestling. One Night Stand 2006 is one of my favorite PPV’s of all time. I was 14 years old and still remember how excited I was when my mom told me I could order it.
