Hey does anyone know if Mwfp covered the Quebecers and if so what episode it was on. I’m interested in hearing Matt and Brian’s review of those figures. They put them over a couple weeks in a row if I recall. It would have been around the time they were released. They didn’t spend much time on it though. Brian only collects ZST now (*crickets*) and I don’t recall Mark getting them or saying anything of substance. Sorry this is all vague; it just didn’t feel like they were discussed in much detail unfortunately. They were good enough figures that I think deserved more praise but that’s not my call. Really? That’s pretty lame of Brian

People can collect what they want to collect. My issue as a listener is hearing how bored and checked out he is when discussing other retros. It’s nice to have multiple opinions on something so it’s not just an echo chamber nor silence on the other end. I don’t remember what Mark’s rules are for collecting but he is usually more engaged.
A couple of years ago there was so much enthusiasm behind the retros explosion and now it seems like it is a chore for Brian to even have to listen to Matt talk about it. And that’s just who Brian is; he has done that with other things too. It’s not that I’m upset at anyone for how they feel; I’m just disappointed that one of my favorite aspects of the show has kind of been slowly dying. You can’t make someone else love something so there isn’t like some easy fix lol. Wouldn’t want anyone to start pretending to be excited or interested in something. If I wanted that experience, I would listen to Sam Roberts.

Pretty much this. Matt has been putting over Mitch on most of his latest work. The other 2 I think have been, but they don't seem to collect anything besides Zombies, which I can't fathom at this point now that the lines have gone down different roads at this point.

I'd be curious what they're download numbers are compared to a year ago and 2 years ago. I really liked it the first year or so, seemed to go downhill when they brought in Mark and the show started ballooning in length. I do alot of fast forwarding though, so a 2 hour show, I usually get through in 30-40 minutes ffing through all the adds, music, plugging/self promotion, and talk of much besides legends figures, so anything star wars/turtles/ghostbusters, cards or modern talent. I'm kinda close to checking out altogether, but I keep wanting to hear their opinions on at least the latest reveals and releases in the retro realm.

Shango looks great! Just don't know if I have a need for it given the Hasbro is just fine in my book. I'd love to get a Kama though, did he confirm or post photos of a Kama? I don't seem to see it anywhere, but a few replies in this thread seemed to suggest it's been shown?

I hadn’t listed in years and then a few months ago I started watching them on YouTube, I enjoyed them but it’s not something I miss.

It's in the post with the Papa Shango figure, if you click on the arrow, it slides over to the next picture. Here you go:

I like the show so much more with Mark being part of it. He can be the voice of normalcy sometimes. This isn’t meant as an insult but I hear the phrase “in what world does ____ live in” used online and on the show but to be completely frank, Brian and Matt may not always be aware of the bubble they live in as their lifestyle has been drastically different than the average person/listener. Mark really adds that needed element of humbleness and inexperience that is refreshing. But I do agree that the show music and ads are unlistenable in full. Such an evil genius of a marketing tactic to get people to join their Patreon. I say that as someone who has been a member for years lol. Lately I’ve mostly been listening to wrestling figure podcasts so right now I’m the complete opposite and wouldn’t mind more figure talk.

when it comes to Hasbro style figures, unless it's a wrestler i will never be able to get otherwise, i stick to era-specific figures only. The ECW thing was never for me, even as an older, disaffected teen in it's heyday. A Rhyno figure standing next to Hulk Hogan, Virgil or Earthquake makes little sense to me, display-wise.
I know ECW has it's fans, but I'll never "get" it.

Love it, the more ECW the better. Hopefully he has the guy who did MOM and the Quebecers sculpting this one

Holds no nostalgia for me. WCW though I'd really love to see more of.

Figure looks good but I’m not really going out of my way to start collecting ECW guys nor invasion era guys and beyond. Thats right around when the magic wore off for me.

Mitch did a stream last night and showed a bunch of stuff. Savage is looking great, the various Bulldogs are looking better than I expected. Even Diana looks good
Now Arn and Tully need more work. He said he’s tweaked the torso size but it’s still too big. He also mentioned the knee pads and basically said he wants it to look like the Hasbros which to me is incredibly short sighted and just kinda dumb. You’re making new molds for figures, make them accurate. I’ll be really disappointed if that’s how they turn out

Mitchs new Papa Shango looks good, but I wonder will many ppl buy it since we have the hasbro. I’ll definitely get the Kama though. Hopefully Mitch listens to the criticisms of Arn and Tully and fixes them. Tully looks too bloated.
