JokerFC 's top 10 talkers thread gave me the idea for this Best PBP...No particular order after #1 Gorilla Monsoon- For my $$$ the best to ever do it Jim Ross-I couldve done without all his college ball talk but still very good in his prime Vince- I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but I enjoyed em. Was excellent with Jesse and Lawler Joey Styles- Always enjoyed his work. Much preferred solo over the pairing with Gertner/Cyrus though Lance Russell- Was great in Memphis. Just like Solie in being that classic old school announcer Worst PBP...No order after #1 Cole-Never once liked em. Just terrible all around in my book Schiavone- I could tolerate em when he was with Jesse/Bobby but overall not a fan of his work Dick Graham- Announcer for the Spectrum shows back in the day. Just awful Mike Adamle- They tried with em but he failed miserably Craig DeGeorge- fine as a interviewer but not as lead in the booth Best Color...No order after the first 2 Heenan/Ventura- Shocker! but these two are in a class of their own and will never be topped as far as I'm concerned Lawler- Damn entertaining in the 90s. Didnt like how they toned em down in the 00s but still overall I was a fan of his run. Cornette- another one who fit like a glove Hennig- Absolutely Perfect! in the booth I thought Worst Color... Mark Madden- Drizzling Sh**s. Enough said Don West- Getting into early TNA recently and I'm just not a fan Rob Bartlett- WTF were you thinking Vince??!! Awful Lita- I was watching RA era Heat shows from my collection while back and man she was terrible David Crockett- Like West, I can appreciate his genuine reactions but still too over the top for my liking This is a topic here I know I'll post some honorable mentions especially for the worst side lol

Great idea.
Best
Bobby Heenan & Gorilla Monsoon: I cannot put these guys separately as they are the perfect duo. My favorite two guys by fay.
Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler: Like above, I need these two as a pair.
For a fifth I am really struggling as there are so many that I like, Jesse Ventura is up there as I loved his work with Gorilla, and Vince and Vince alone would potentially make my list too. While they were relatively shortlived, I also liked some of the wrestlers when they were doing it, Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, and even Piper springs to mind. To be honest, Piper at Rumble 91 is one of my all time favorites, but I will admit a huge part of that is my love for that event.
Worst
Michael Cole: Will this guy ever go away??? I never understand how people like Michael Cole, he flat out sucks. His overselling of everything and I know he is being told what to say a lot of the time, but he is the worst when it comes to saying the same thing over and over again. I just hate his whole shtick as a commentator. I remember on Something to Wrestle, Bruce said that people will not appreciate how good he is until he is gone. I disagree with that! There is a HBK DVD that he presents, I think it is My Journey and he is horrible in that too! So year, I cannot stand Michael Cole!
Booker T: Ok, so this is a modern one (do not kill me PJ) but I love Booker T as a wrestler, but he is horrible on NXT, so bad that it sometimes turns me off from watching the show.

I haven't seen as many as The Brain, but I'll do my best: Best PBP: Gorilla JR Vince Solie Lance Russell Worst PBP: Cole Schiavone Bischoff - wasn't that bad but wasn't great either. The WWE has had a few over the last decade or so that have been horrible, I just cannot remember their names. Best Color: Jesse Heenan Lawler Perfect Piper - Georgia/Crockett days, he was okay in the WWF, but not great. HONORABLE MENTION: the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase - I really enjoyed him at RR94, I would have liked to have seen/heard more. Worst Color: Mark Madden - they replaced Bobby the Brain Heenan with this guy, no wonder WCW went out of business. JBL - horrible, he kept jumping between babyface and heel during his announcing, he would bury people for no reason. Wade Barrett - cannot stand listening to this guy, he has a horrible voice. Rob Bartlett - glad he didn't last long. Art Donovan - It was only one show, but still...

Still laugh at how Mach and Gorilla just ignored em at a certain point lol

Hudson was good in Global Wrestling Federation in Texas, but his WCW work was okay. I guess I preferred Schiavone and Tenay over Hudson, so I just never cared for when he was on the mic compared to those two. Plus he was usually paired up with Mark Madden too and that combo was just the worst.
Stan Lane was okay, like when I think of WWF coliseum videos, it's usually Stan Lane and Ted DiBiase together calling the match, and it has a nostalgic vibe at least, but yeah, those two just weren't the greatest. A bit dry for both of them.
And of course, Gordon Solie... "uuuhhhhh uhn! A su-play, and a 1, 2, and uhhhhhh uhn! a kick out" Just.... ugh. No thanks. Never liked his work at all!

100% with the GWF run Dibiase I thought was good with Gorilla on Challenge. Also with Vince too at the Rumble.Def not my fav from the wrestler turned commentator list but still I thought he did fine for the lil run he had lol and Solie I know isnt everyone's cup of tea. Like Vince, you either liked em or didnt. I didnt mind em but thought Russel was better Oh yeah and Bob Caudle. Very underrated in the PBP role.

I forgot to mention Pat McAfee.
He has go away heat for me! Maybe it's cause I am from the UK and not into America football, but I hated his whole act it seemed so forced. Him and Cole together were the worst!

I'm old school through and through but I will mention one modern announcer who I did hear a lil bit of...
Corey Graves...F'N terrible. I've read comments elsewhere saying he was the 2nd coming of Bobby and just laughed my ass off at it. Nowhere close

I don’t have enough knowledge to do top 5’s. On each so will combine in to general commentators
Best Heenan Monsoon JR King Vince
Worst Tazz Susan St James (worst of the worst) The guy that was on Monday night raw at the beginning The guy at King of the Ring 94 (I think he was different from the Raw guy) Macho Man - sorry guys but didn’t rate his commentary work too highly

MKSavage ever hear JBL during the RA era? That was his best run in the booth IMO. Him ripping on Cole was gold.Plus he stayed true to heel during that time

I'll add to this... Right? He's not the best, not saying that, but he's not top 5 worst. And he definitely isn't as bad as Mark Madden.
